Re: *Updated* Post clean pics of your cars!
Thought that I would revive this thread with my long gone S14.

Upgraded alternator, electrical issue?
My alternator was on its way out so I decided to upgrade to the quest alternator. Everything has been working fine, but I am getting 13.8-14.1 V. Ive others say they get more than that. I also noticed today that my dash, dome, and head lights have a slight flicker at idle or slow driving. It occured...

So Ive spoken to 8bit and now had some time to tinker with my car... I do have some questions; Im having an issue that goes like this: The base tune that I started from had the cold start enrichment map set to stock values. I never decreased these values by the ratio of the new injectors which is ap...

8Bit I will call you this weekend. You seemed pretty busy as I am so thats why I posted here. I have searched the forums over the past couple years, Ive forgotten some info and as of now I'm deep in school and don't have a lot of time to find specifics for all of my questions. Thanks for the respons...

Thanks 8bit. No input on the other stuff? I'd really like to figure out the fast throttle movement lean condition. I have that table available but don't know what the values mean. Guessing they are in milliseconds? And what about the copying over of maps to the knock map and getting rid of that lowe...

Im using tunerpro rt. Its 10 -11 afrs on the wideband on cold start, which I believe I can adjust on that cold start enrichment map, but I dont know what the values mean. Adjusting the fuel map doesnt change anything for the lean tip in. i read something about the accel tip in table needing adjustme...

I am running 50lbers (approx 525cc/min) -z32tt maf (still n60?) - Esuper50 trim - 10 psi. And now for the questions: 1. How would the Minimum Injector pulse effect things? I have an issue with partial throttle not switching to low afrs when at low rpm-high load- and low boost. Does changing this eff...

Still no one? Maybe I wasn't clear. I would like to send someone my .bin file and have them check it out for issues/ discrepancies. I am using the s14 xdf in the tunes thread. I would like to change some values for the cold start for example, but I don't know how to interpret them if they are correc...

Can someone out there examine my tune?
Hey guys, I have my s14 running and tuned in cruising and boost. Although I think the k value needs some tweaking because in cold weather we had to drop the values at the top of the map and they we're lower than what the wide band was reading. Unless there is a compensation for air density/ cold air...

Is the main/only adjustment for denser air raising TP on the maps? Denser air=Higher load.. I still dont know where the lag time is coming from wh...

S14 CalumRT issues, cold air adjustment?, need new xdf?
Hey guys, I need some help with my tune. Forgive me if the questions have been answered, but I just havent had much time to sit and search through all the posts. Maybe someone can point me in the right direction. I recently got my s14 back on the road with a built engine. We got a base tune down on ...

Coolant temp sensor difference? S13/S14
It looks like there is a difference between the coolant temp sensors between the s13 and s14. I had to use an s13 one that I had sitting here because the s14 was junk from being smashed. On start the dash guage reads half way up already. On consult at full warm temp, it shows 190, higher when coming...

Head over surfaced
I am building a ka24de. I bought a refurbished head from another ka-t'er. The head seems to have had too much material taken off. I measure 4.964 head height. which is outside the min by .008. All of the stock heads I have measured are at 4.974-4.976. The block was machined at .003 material removal....

Engine build: Crank tq/clearance & cam wear Q's.
I recently assembled my block with arp mains. The machinist had the spec sheet for the mains and my fsm when doing the work. I assume he torqued to 60 ft/lbs before he line honed. I say assume, because the work was done a while back, and i just recently got around to assembling last week. I torqued ...

Filling coolant passages between cylinders?
I'm currently building a block bored 0.020 over. I've had the chance to discuss some things with the former owner of Fmax. He informed me that they had some minor issues with those passages when boring these DE blocks where you could see the impression of the water passage in the wall of the cylinde...

I rotated it. Everything Ive been told by pro's, and a decent amount of what Ive read online says that piston slap isnt that normal of a thing. Its a normal thing to be accompanied by over bored piston to cylinder clearances. A pro also told me that 6% isnt the best for boosted engines. From my rese...

I have a stock short block in my garage. Has about 150k on it. Since the cylinders still look good in it. Im thinking of buying some stock bore forged pistons, slapping those in. Bearings, head. ect. Basically just build a new engine. I dont want to boost only 7psi. I want to go for 15 or so. Maybe ...

I said the pressure was leaking into the intake manifold, not the manifold leaking. Meaning leaking past the intake valves. My turbo is freshly rebuilt. I haven't felt that I build enough oil pressure to warrant a restrictor since its a standard bearing, and I burn oil at low oil pressure scenarios....
