If you can. Just torque it to a KA head. SS can warp pretty gnarly if it's not welded correctly. Mild steel can still warp just as bad. Just allow for lots of cooling time. I feel your pain with the economy. I've been welding 8-9 years. Went to college for welding 3-4 years ago. Graduated 2 months b...

I used to as well with my old transformer machine.

Now with my inverter I find a #6 gas lens works much better. No idea why.

^Since you bought a 110v. You won't get deep penetration. Buy one of the little propane torch kits. Or the yellow bottle (don't remember what its called) Use it to pre-heat your material. This will help A LOT if done right. 400 degrees should be enough pre-heating. But you can go til it has a bit of...

Being a cert TIG welder myself. I will say this. Put the keyboard down and walk away. j/k Seriously. Look on ebay or locally for a larger transformer TIG. I bought my TIG for $400. Lincoln is good stuff.
I grew up on Lincoln as well. mostly used them through out my welding career.

I just prefer Miller over Lincoln. I'm always having issues with Lincolns. But never Millers.

/\/\ Haha, I forgot about our dollar doing so well.
You should look into the Miller Syncrowave 200... Far mroe capable than the Econotig. Works amazing for manifolds and the like. I'm looking into buying a Syncrowave 250DX for myself though. Yay uber expensive welding machines! lol.
