The stock motor will hold up to a turbo as long as you spend the time and money for proper tuning. You will need a new clutch to match your power. If you have a few extra bucks to spend then get new pistons and rods and let her rip. Stock ones will get you to 300 hp. Be ready to spend over 2000 if y...

Just to though it out there, it could be the gas. When i was stock, running 87 octane got me 22 mpg and failed emmissions. Running 93 octane was noticebly faster and I got 28 mpg. I didnt think it would make a big difference but it does.

if your car is cutting out and sputtering under heavy throttle, your spart plug gap could be too large. It happened to me and i though it was something else. The gap should be about 0.028"

calum rt is the way to go. I got one and I did not know a thing about tuning, but it is easy enough to figure out. I bet there is already a good tune you can find for your set up. Check out 8-bits tunes hosted and posted in the ecu tuning section. Also read the calum rt discusion thread.

wow, a lot of useful info. I didnt notice that stock bin until now. I am running a modifed 550 n62 bin with my 370 and n60 combo. I was running a stock ecu for a while but it is much better with the calum. I did not know that i was supposed to change the vq table. Right now i have a k value of 210, ...

Ive been working with a 95 s14 ecu. Running a stock ecu, 370's and a n60 maf is decent, but my new calum rt is much better, by far. I have a big vacuum leak because the only thing i did to my pcv system is a breather filter on the valve cover (maybe the reason the 370 and n60 combo worked for me). I...

So your piston ringlands are broken. I broke 3.5 out of the 4 pistons pretty quick once i put a turbo on. I got new arias pistons with stock bore and re-honed the cylinder walls which still had the factory cross hatch, I probably should have done the rods at the same time, but instead I didnt and be...

the marks will not line up after you turn the engine. You should not have anything to worry about. I guess if you keep turning the engine, eventually it will line up again.

The car will run with the 370s and n60 but it will run like crap compared to the stock setup. I used to run that setup with 10lbs of boost and it seemed ok, but then again I did blow my engine. . . .twice. So make sure to turn the timing back at least 5 degrees if you choose to run that setup with t...

regardless of time, taking the head off is pretty easy. A lot of misc nuts and bolts and taking the upper timing chain off along with the cams. I would be pissed if I had to take the head off because of a spark plug. Good luck getting that out.

The boost source for the wastegate should be close to the turbo. The farther away, the more boost spike you will see. I had to drill into my t25 compressor outlet elbow and screw in a brass fitting.

my car actually runs good with a stock program using the 370cc and n60 maf, a little rich cruising and under boost but lean at idle. If you could send me a file with the stock program and launch control then i could definitely try it out. I am still learning how all this works.

I don't know why your afr would slowly richen up, maybe a vacuum leak. I have heard that running the maf to a blow through set up will lean out the afr.
