Re: Ka24det headgasket options

actually... no. The firing ring is just that . A metal firing ring thatis folder around the perimeter of the gasket and usually is not a complete_ layer_ from one end of the gasket to the other . Blow one and you'll see LOL. The felpro off the shelf gasket is the most forgiving about perfection of t...

Re: ring and pinion

Thanks Supa. I really don't car if its a viscous diff or not so long as its a R200 short nose . Id only be using the actual ring and pinion so Id only need to snag the gears and side spacers to make it go in mine. I usually rip the diff open right there in the salvage yard and just pillage what I ne...

Re: where to buy valve shims?

those things are like GOLD when you buy them new. I always snag em when I go to the salvage yard and I find a motor somebody has yanked the cams on. When I swapped my car to the v8 i sold off my stash here to someone . Most times you can shift the originals around on the valves to get what you need ...

Looking to numerically lower the gear ratio on my S14/LS1- 6 speed car from the 4.08 to somewhere in the 3.55 or even a 3.70 ratio. I have read around and have been led to believe that the Q45 has a 3.54 ratio but I really dont know how many years that is true if at all. So if one of you know for su...

If you are not hitting cones you are not trying hard enough. They are for the most part harmless to the car ...just a could little rubber scuffs that usually will wipe right off with a little rubbing compound (most of the time).

Re: Air Conditioning Help

when your compressor is running you should have roughly 35-45 PSI on the low side an between 200-250PSI on the high side . If you dont have about a 1/5th split between the 2 ...there is a problem with the refrigerant circuit whether it be a saturated drier, a failed compressor or a malfunctioning ex...

That setup on stock boost should hit that number but I will say again that I and others have tried this setup and all who have will agree. You will be much better off to go turbo .The intake temps are just too high and if the tune is the least bit off you will be popping head gaskets and ring lands ...

The "rev limiter" you refer to is over run fuel cut coming in and out. Disable that until you get the rest of the tune tailored to your car. If you are using the settings I sent to you in that MSQ it comes in at 1700 and returns fuel when it drops below 1300. The idle being set to PWM warm...

I reused the stock bracket and did what supa did .Mounted it right where the original was. It does force you to build a jumper harness for the db9 and db15 with no shrounds on them or else they interfere with the footwell/firewall. It also does stand the kickpanel out a tad bitbut fits fine . My MS3...

yes that is the one i mean. That could very well be what is causing you so much trouble . Its only used if you were using the wheel to do COP sequential and or sequential fuel . For your setup that may be confusing matters. Since the inner portion of the wheel is all that is needed to run the car be...

You dont wanna lower your cranking RPM . The purpose of that setting is to determine above what RPM the engine is considered to be running and not cranking and vice versa. Putting it at 300is going to be a pretty good number for that . It will have absolutely no influence over your synching problem.

I think you are OK . Sounds like your compression gage is a little wonky. If it passed a leakdown and the compression increased that much wet the possibility of cam timing being off is slim but by all means make sure they are right on .You don't have any problems with the idler sprocket bolt . I kno...

Id say that either you still have a timing problem, the cylinders are washed dry by all the fuel that has been dumped in them , or you got a liar for a compression gage. Any one or combination of the above could be the case. If it passes the leakdown then that's a good sign. If you trust the compres...
