Re: KA24DET Question. CX - ISR debate
My only experience with CX is my stainless top mount manifold. I bought the beefed up version ($370ish?). When I pulled it last year I noticed that the runners were positioned about 3/8" off of center of the exhaust ports. This upset me quite a bit because I specifically purchased their better ...

Re: Virtual Dyno Results
They both looked a little rich from 5800-6700, so you need to lean it out there. With E85, you can get away with a lot more timing than what you are currently running. Start bumping timing 2 degrees at a time and then do another log and run it through Virtual Dyno. Keep doing this and once you stop...

Re: Virtual Dyno Results
I'm not familiar with MS or Tunerstudio, but I downloaded it (and Mega Log Viewer) and looked at the moderate 93 and E85 maps. Am I right that total timing was around 19* through both runs in full boost? I know you said 18* so maybe I'm looking at it wrong. Yeah that's probably about right. Do you ...

Re: Virtual Dyno Results
You gained that much power switching to ethanol with no increase in timing? Yes... Maybe? Here was my procedure. Make 3 passes at current ignition map on 93 octane.. Choose average pass. Burn new ignition table.. Make 3 passes 93 octane... Choose average pass. Drain fuel (~5 gallons) and fill with ...

Re: Virtual Dyno Results
Good data...keep it up...Did you increase timing after MBT as well? As rpm's increase, volumetric efficiency decreases and you can increase timing to keep cylinder pressures up for better power. After I install the new fuel setup I'm going to put it on a dyno. My goal is to tune for MBT on an inert...

Re: Need help with timing under the curve/ whole timing map
Your ignition map looks very similar to mine and there is definitely more power in timing. You are now at a fulcrum of deciding to push timing without any real feedback or stay safe. I would suggest adding a knock module to your computer or rigging up some det cans. You can do this on the street if ...

I'm on 93. I believe I'm running between .75/1 deg/psi. I think you're post might have been backwards with corn. That car absolutely rips on 11-12 psi right now. Re: MS1/Extra Nerds! kPa Table Switching Circuit
Yeah, this setup worked. I would suggest using a 10-turn 10k potentiometer and testing it on the bench first. It took me a while to get the correct voltage/kpa that I wanted the table to switch at. Also remember that the MAP sensor is not actually linear so although your calculations will get you cl...

Re: MegaSquirt/Tuner Studio Tuning Theories/Concepts
Supakat, Im using your suggestions to create a timing map. You state that at 100 kPa and 3000 rpm that timing should be at ~25* BTDC.. The .msq file you provided does not show this.
Clarification?
Thanks for the resource, lots of good reading!

Re: Drifting High Compression Turbo KA24DE
I talked to a pretty reputable engine builder, and his tuner about high compression and corn. I was advised that even running e85, they noticed a pretty even tradeoff of heat between high compression / low boost / e85, and lower compression / higher boost / conventional gasoline. They recommended ru...

So I will be fine running my 75A worth of fusebox through the ignition switch? Your reply is somewhat vague.. Does the ignition barrel make the relay, or supply the relay?
