I'm rebuilding again my KA, I sent my block to get decked, honed, fire rings. I bought another Cometic to test it correctly for the last time with the head resurfaced also. Lets see what happens.

I'm using Spec Clutch Kit stage 3+, and the car did 404hp. It's rated for 500 tq.

The first cometic hg I installed was without resurfacing nothing and it leaked. The second one was installed with the head resurfaced and the block and it also leaked.

i ran cometic before. just like it recommends, it has to be pretty flat and smooth. mine wasnt and it leaked. i had oil and water mixing. and leak in coolant system equals overheating. Thats correct! It happened to me twice, first time I didnt resurfaced nothing and installed a Cometic hg and blew it, then I resurfaced the head only and just checked the block and looked fine (big mistake) it blew it again. If you did not overheat the motor and installing a Fel-pro, you don't need to deck the block or head, just give it a good clean. Check head with a straight edge. I'm using Spec stage 3+ clutch kit and my car is @ 23psi and has 404hp. I like how the clutch feels. No issues so far.

Update! I went to te dyno and made 404hp @ 22psi and 10.3 A/F ratio.
