Wow. This thread has nearly 50k views! Glad to see photobucket pulled their head out of their ass... I still own the car, and the car is still sitting with broken ringlands. I’ve gotten so side tracked from this project, it’s not even funny. Let’s see, I learned how to do 3d CAD design, built a 3d ...

Re: 1,000hp ka24det

So 250hp per cylinder is no easy, reliable or cheap task. And honestly I don't think a KA is the best choice...add a few more cylinders to divide the stress and youre goal becomes much more feasable. Mind you I'm also a big ka fan. That's what I'm saying too man lol. A lot of what we see online vide...

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,

I guess I'm overdue to post some updates. I'm now at over 168K on the odometer, which means I have 13,000+ miles on this motor so far. (The rebuild was at 155,111 miles, which was in September of 2016). She is still kicking a55 and going strong!! So, after d!cking around with this for well over a y...

Re: 700hp goals

I hope this isn't thread jacking.. I have been curious What is required to support, lubricant wise, for higher power KA-T. What precautions at which hp and/or redline do we need to take -with our oil system? Loaded question. There isn't an exact answer for that. Its always better to be precautious....

Re: Advice Needed: Arp 12mm headstuds

I'm in a similar position I want to add larger headstuds since the majority of people in the 4 cylinder turbo community build to accept 12mm or even 1/2" headstuds but no one has specifics on the cost of machining etc. Last average machine shop I talked to locally said $300 bucks just for the machin...

I'm Pretty sure it looks like a stock transmission, stock suspension, stock intake manifold .... A lot of people overthink a lot on builds and go with what the industry is convincing them that they need. A lot of it has to do with the driver and probably running the right type of soft tires/air pres...

Re: 11mm headstuds

Best way I can explain it.... They are only 1mm larger, so if you try to just tap them in, there isn't enough meat to make new threads. You have to basically drill out your block, then tap in a new threaded "sleeve" that will bite into the block, as well as have threads for your new larger studs to...

Can we just drill the block with Milwaukee hammer drill for ARP RB26 head studs, then thread for the 12mm and call it a day or do we need to take the block to have a machine shop do it via drill press? Most companies have their rule of them when plumbing but a lot of what you read online is anecdotal so try many things and find out what works for you. That little welded pipe thingy looks cool..... I run journal bearing only so I don't really worry much about coolant lines etc and I'm no guru by any means.... ..... but the way I look at it is that when turbo charging it all becomes one system....... the turbo kit and the engine become one..... ......
