Re: 1,000hp ka24det

My bad for the long winded rant Too sum this up: Race cars are sick, but the bar has been pushed so far these days be careful about your goals. Also, KA's are rad, but just build a JZ and be realistic. The other thing is people tend to think it's all cost effective...... whatever route you decide t...

So 250hp per cylinder is no easy, reliable or cheap task. And honestly I don't think a KA is the best choice...add a few more cylinders to divide the stress and youre goal becomes much more feasable. Mind you I'm also a big ka fan. That's what I'm saying too man lol. A lot of what we see online vide...

I’ve gotten so side tracked from this project, it’s not even funny. Let’s see, I learned how to do 3d CAD design, built a 3d ...

I guess I'm overdue to post some updates. I'm now at over 168K on the odometer, which means I have 13,000+ miles on this motor so far. (The rebuild was at 155,111 miles, which was in September of 2016). She is still kicking a55 and going strong!! So, after d!cking around with this for well over a y...

I hope this isn't thread jacking.. I have been curious What is required to support, lubricant wise, for higher power KA-T. Re: Advice Needed: Arp 12mm headstuds

I'm in a similar position I want to add larger headstuds since the majority of people in the 4 cylinder turbo community build to accept 12mm or even 1/2" headstuds but no one has specifics on the cost of machining etc. Last average machine shop I talked to locally said $300 bucks just for the m...

I'm Pretty sure it looks like a stock transmission, stock suspension, stock intake manifold .... A lot of people overthink a lot on builds and go with what the industry is convincing them that they need. A lot of it has to do with the driver and probably running the right type of soft tires/air pres...

Best way I can explain it.... They are only 1mm larger, so if you try to just tap them in, there isn't enough meat to make new threads. You have to basically drill out your block, then tap in a new threaded "sleeve" that will bite into the block, as well as have threads for your new large...
