Re: New KA-T Idle Issues

First thing you need is a boost leak tester. Otherwise it is hard to tell. We can't just know what's going on from a video. It sounds like spark gets cut out at 2k, or fuel is getting dumped at 2k, or not enough fuel at 2k. Try holding the gas pedal down even as it stalls. Does it get passed 2-3k? O...

Try drilling holes in thermostat and see what happens, its worth a shot. I run no thermostat because of this same issue as well.

Re: shift's build-that's wassup

I'm still waiting on the fixed coilover to come in so I can get an alignment. But! When I went to adjust the traction rod, it was wayyyyy off. So I really think that was the problem. I work tonight (Sunday 7pm to 7am) then I will hope that the coilover is here on Monday. I can't wait to get this thi...

Re: My 1st KA-T build

Everything looks amazing. Great job, I love it. As for connecting Maf to intake of turbo, don't do it. Just put a filter on the inlet and put the Maf right before the throttle body. You should run blow through instead of pull through if you are running an MAF, especially since your bov is on the hot...

Re: shift's build-that's wassup

Ya I saw that. So I tried swapping internals and it doesn't work. I put the j30 diff back together but I can't remember which output shaft goes to which side. There is a long one and a short one. Once I figure that out, I'll just use j30 axles

Re: shift's build-that's wassup

So I pulled both diff's apart. The j30 has 5bolt output shafts. Now the j30 shafts are different sizes, one is longer than the other. While the s13 diff output shafts are the same sizes. Do I use the j30shafts or the s13 shafts?

Re: shift's build-that's wassup

So I have the differential out, and I have a j30 differential also. Its the 5 bolt axles. I am trying to decide if I should just switch the internals from the j30 into the 240 diff, or just slap the j30 on. If I use the j30 diff, I'm probably going to have to use longer mounting bolts since the j30 ...

Whoa, coilover took some hits. Did you have a chance to change the length of the rear traction rods to see if that made any difference in clearance?

I did change the length but didn't pur the wheel on to test it yet. I think while everything is apart i will put the lsd in.

The other side is not like that at all. The other side's coilover is exactly in the middle of the upper control arm and it clears the axle just fine. The rear top hats are not adjustable, and I'm not sure if hey fit one way or two, but Ill check on that. I dont have an oem traction rod for compariso...

Re: shift's build-that's wassup

So I went for a little test drive to see if the whees rub, and one of them did, it was too low. So I hammered the rear fenders and decided to raise the rears just a little bit. This is what I found in the rear driver side. The axle boot is torn up and grease is everywhere, the bottom of the coilover...
