Yeah, coil is original so nearly 20years old lol....It seems like reman MAFs even from O'Reillys are a crap shoot like distributors so after checking plugs for fuel I'm going to plug in Datascan and take a few datalog drives to see what's going on again.... No black soot from the exhaust but gas mil...

Thanks supa, even though the new injectors came with new o-rings, there's always the possibility of one getting a slit or torn when reinstalling the injectors. However, if there is a torn o-ring(s) , shouldn't the corresponding plug be covered in raw fuel? I just found the code and am going to check...

I hear ya man....getting ready to sell my '93 though I haven't posted it on NC yet...has a 2001 engine and 4.08 auto tranny that hits the rev limiter in first lol (need the later TCU but don't care enough to do it). The silver chassis/wheel setup was one of the best looking to me over the years. I'm...

OBD1 KA and code 45!?!
Hey guys, I've had an intermittent battle with this code for some time now and it's driving me nuts. It's a '93 Altima that's back to NA for now and has been giving me a code 45 (leaky injector or overall very rich condition) off and on for some months. Due to the original parts being nearly 20 year...

Well after some thinking on things, I believe the reason for me hitting the rev limiter in first is due to using the old '93 TCU which was controlling much taller gearing with the old tranny. I'm going to check out the '01 TCU and try to find an FSM to compare the pinouts between the 2 TCUs. The oth...

Nissan 4speed auto to auto swap question
Hey guys, I have a '93 Altima but am looking for as much experience as possible on this. Recently, I had a 2001 Altima automatic tranny installed in my '93 while I was out of town by a friend (mechanic). The benefit is the '01 has a 4.08FD and shorter 1-3 gears vs the '93 3.61FD and taller gears. He...

No this was a spur of the moment thing painting the strut brace plates....just used the rattle can Duplicolor metal specks red finish and can clear (looks good too!). I figured they won't see much abuse and no danger of solvents so no big deal. The main reason for wanting to use the gravity feed gun...

DIY painting....rattle can or cheap gravity feed?
Well I'm wanting to do some painting around the engine bay and was looking for some feedback from you DIY painters. It started w/me painting the mounting plates of my FSTB w/a Duplicolor candy apple red metallic that looks great. Also went w/the Duplicolor auto clear but I know rattle can clears (at...

Just wanted to say thanks to everyone for the input....The Nissan parts dept did have a connector repair 'kit' but not having my stock connector with me, I didn't have time to figure out which terminals I needed and which tool to use/how to use it. So I shot by the local LQK and snipped a couple of ...

Hey I noticed that this evening too! I just can't get the old terminal out of the harness connector. Even if I end up splicing, I'd like to figure out how to remove it w/o destroying the connector (might need it down the road) When you mentioned using spade connectors to plug them in, did you mean c...

Yeah, I'm going to try to figure out how to remove the wires/terminals without the removal tool (have to get it from a Snap On, etc truck I've been told) but I'll probably just have to go to the junkyard and splice another connector into my wiring. I've dealt w/the Parts Manager at the local Nissan ...

Broken MAF wire-help w/repair?
Hey guys, I've had issues running rich literally off and on for years (stalling, funky exhaust, etc) and finally found the problem. Signal wire finally broke in my hands at the MAF connector plug. I guess first thing is to find a new tiny spade connector which might be tough at almost 5pm today, but ...

Hey guys, yeah I checked w/the dealer and the pieces are around $49/each for the sides...If things pick up, I'm going to go down and order them but not yet. If I had bothered to check the windshield after letting my wife take the car in last time, the repair shop would have bought them for me.... I'...

Replacing windshield black moulding?
Alright, it's time for a new windshield and in past replacements, the side trim moulding has been damaged and peeled away. Anyone know if it can be bought anywhere but the dealer? This stuff is black and covers the metal trim pieces on each side of the windshield. Looks like it's vinyl or rubber and...

I can't believe I misspelled VTEC, oh well.... Re Honda heads being 'superior', I was just referring to what seems like most Hondas/Acuras running rediculous CRs from the factory and running FI on top of that. Of course I'm not a Honda guy so I'm basically going by what the tuner mags used to always...

Head games-Nissan vs Honda
I'm just curious, omitting the VTECH technology, what makes Honda engines/heads less prone to detonation than your average KA or SR head (ignoring QRs)?
Is there something specific in the design or layout of the chambers?
