Re: Wiring Hall Effect sensor?

The V2.2 Stim can't simulate a toothed wheel, just basic trigger. It sounds like the input circuit in the ECU is working. I'd try spinning the distributor by hand with the key on and engine off, and check what voltage it's sending to the MS.

Thank you. The only other extensions you'll sometimes see are CSV and TXT. Not sure if they're already supported.

I heard it was simply a repackaged, universal version of the Series 2. No direct experience with it.

Can you post both a copy of your MSQ file and a data log of it idling? I can have a look at them.

Yep - when in doubt, use the lowest frequency that doesn't make a lot of noise.

MSPNP-Pro is out - any interest in one for your cars?

http://www.diyautotune.com/images/mspnp/mspnp_pro_white.png We've just released our first MS3-Pro based plug and play ECUs. The first ones, released today, are for the '01-'05 Miatas, with Toyota 2JZ-GTE, 4.6 Mustang, and LT5 Corvette units to follow in the next couple months. After that? We're loo...

So far, I don't have anything to add over what I posted in your thread on MSExtra.com. I think it can be fixed with trim pot adjustment.

I believe Phil or I sent the phone number as well.

If this is a regular MegaSquirt and not something plug and play, I'd try testing its RPM input on a Stim at this point.

Ours doesn't swap the signals, but it does mean you end up using the second trigger output as a cam signal.

Re: MS3 - spark noise? Something?

Can you post a tooth log instead of a composite log? I find the tooth logs are a bit easier to evaluate tiny changes in RPM with, as you can just go by the changes in the height of the bars and any tiny difference will really jump out at you.

You mentioned you went distributorless. What sort of trigger wheel are you currently using? Some of them flip which signal does what.

Given the shape of that timing map, I strongly suspect that 1.0 on it load scale is 1.0 bar MAP sensor reading.

Re: Need ECU recommendations please

This would be based off the MS3-Pro. The regular MS3 is too bulky for us to use in a production PNP setup. If a group buy went through, we'd probably be looking at a ~3 month timeframe from getting a test car in here (for an S13 - we have a stock-ish S14 hanging around the shop, but our S13 project ...

This may be difficult to figure out past this point without throwing an oscilloscope on the signal. Not sure if I mentioned this before, but I've seen a few cars that started better on an upside-down disc. You need to make some major changes to the wheel decoder settings to get the right trigger ang...

Yea, I'm pretty much set on doing that. Just had to reason out all the options. OnTheChip makes a good point about the resolution of LC-1... realistically the LC-1 is only accurate to +- 0.1AFR anyway. That's the biggest thing - significant figures. It does no good to bring the signal in to the ECU...

Yes.

This would mess up the timing, but without an RPM signal, you won't be able to set the timing anyway. The goal here is to isolate components and test one part of the system at a time.
