Re: CC White bunny throw out bearing

No worries I ended up calling and talking to Mazworx. Got my bellhousing shipped off to him yesterday. There are some locating pins that need to be drilled so it isnt just milling the face of the housing down. I also asked about sliding the engine forward and he said no the trans bracket doesnt allo...

Re: Best T3 manifold for the money?

Those look very similar to the Fel-pro I'm using which have worked better than the Mr. Gasket copper ones, IMHO. and, yes I had the manifold I ran the copper one on planed by a machinist. Still leaked on the outermost corners of #1 and #4 cylinders. No leakage on my Full-Race or predecessor using th...

Glad to see more people building S-chassis for other things than drifting. Count me subscribed. I'm up to 400 on pump gas, aiming for mid 400s to 500 on E85 for NASA/SCCA/HPDE stuff. killed the stock trans last weekend (I guess it didn't like passing cars in 5th gear @ WOT... ) Z32 trans c...

Re: CC White bunny throw out bearing

So, was thinking about shifter placement. You have the xcessive mounts right? Can you slide your engine forward enough to line it up? My xcessive motor mounts are slotted maybe 4-5". Also did you send the bellhousing in or machine it yourself. Trying to see what needs to be machined so I can ta...

Re: CC White bunny throw out bearing

Very nice on the Stinger. Looks like a blast. Good point on the spacer. I wondered how they were getting away without machining the bellhousing. Its getting close to winter time here and I've accepted I wont be driving it again until the spring. Last summer I cracked ringlands and my machinist had a...

Killed my transmission today just driving down the road. 400 wtq and it gave up the ghost. Z32 trans time maybe? Looking at the Xcessive kit against Mazworx. what made you go w/ Mazworx out of curiousity?

Re: Best T3 manifold for the money?

I had to add about 1/2" to my driver's side to give enough oil pan to rack-and-pinion clearance for my comfort FWIW. I only used the driver's side Xcessive mount but I got the hood clearance I needed. Short story on the dyno this morning, I lost 5hp peak but gained 16 ft/lb torque. The real sto...

Re: Best engine break-in method if cams aren't new?

When i rebuilt my most recent KA I redid the oil pump with new internals. I packed just the gears with grease and rotated it by hand before I put the cover back on. I disconnected the CAS at startup to prevent fuel and spark and cranked it over a few times at about 5 second intervals with a short br...

Re: Best engine break-in method if cams aren't new?

Id do a short run, 10 mins at least at 2-3k to clear assembly lube and then change oil. I do highway pulls and coast down then accelerate again once drivetrain is fully warmed up for the first couple hundred miles or so. Come straight home and let the car sit overnight until cold iron to allow rings...

Fffuuuuu.... partial refund and driveshaftshop or shaftmasters?? I've bought from both of them and been happy with quality.

They both have a ton of configurations.

Re: Ka24det 500hp dream

So I used just the driver's side Xcessive mount at this point. The oil pan is a touch lower than the crossmember on the driver's side now but there is adequate clearance between crossmember and PS rack to oil pan. It also did give me enough hood clearance for the turbo. I'll grab pics later, my cool...

Re: Ka24det 500hp dream

On the S14, there is a proportioning valve that sticks down at a 45 degree angle to the rear brakes. The wastegate sits there. I had to swap to a z32 BMC to clear, yes. I don't think the S13 has that issue, here's a pic; https://i.ibb.co/82CjnHL/bmc.jpg I'm running a turbosmart Hypergate 45. It's go...

Re: Ka24det 500hp dream

I would personally stay with the stock IM and throttle body for your goals for throttle response and low-end. I'm sure others will disagree but the huge throttle body is going to make it act like a peaky boost monster. I'm building a KA for the same goals. Bc stage 2 cams and twin scroll T3 housing....

Re: Ka24det 500hp dream

T2 mani is going to choke the engine higher in the revs imho. Youve got a tiny flange for your exhaust and a HUGE throttle body which is going to kill throttle response/control in lower revs. What are you building this for? High revs drag/drift stuff or responsive auto-x/scca/nasa street type use? T...

How much did you have to shim? I may just use the driver's side one to 'tilt' the engine a little. I have a little less than 1" of clearance as it is with the p2m mounts lowered to the max.

Re: Best T3 manifold for the money?

So full-race manifold is in. I am talking to them but have 3 fitment issues. I'll start by saying the manifold is heavy (20+ lbs!) And extremely well made. I have no concerns about this lasting for the long haul. That said, it hit on my s14 non ABS brake master cylinder. Where the proportioning valv...

Yowza! Thats no good, sorry dude... that sucks. You could try to find an RB25 trans but they're not the cheapest. Minor work drilling out the top 2 holes and making a driveshaft. Same internals as a z32 trans. Mazworks z32 adapter kit would suit you well. Complete package there. The issue you're tal...

Sorry to hear that man. I JUST pulled my transmission about a month ago from a failed pilot bushing with less than 15k miles on it. I've NEVER had a pilot bushing go bad before in over 25 years of driving! It's all part of the game. It does get old, though. https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/nissan...

Its tons of fun with the current housing. I did z32 diff and J30 axles recently so everything but my transmission is up to the task. Might as well shift the power band to the left. I'll hit you up with the compressor maps and wastegating numbers I ran for the .78 A/R housing but, I SHOULD be able to...
