Start the car and put your hand over the PCV or VC breather. Ask your self if you really think that thing is restricting.

Your drain shouldn't have anything more than a 45* angle on your return line anyways according to most manufactures. I'd start there.

Use a one of those thermal spacers. I re-used my old one atleast 5 times and never had a leak.

Is your turbo coolant fed?

I had a cxracing manifold. It cracked. Got it re-welded at my work and was fine. Spend the money once. If all you're concerned with is the manifold and piping buy a good brand used manifold off the forums, and have someone make you IC piping.

Do a compression and leak down test. If the results are good, remove the upper timing chain, and do the common turbo kit everyone does, t28, SR injectors, z32 maf, and call it a day. If you want to tune yourself, megasquirt is a good budget friendly option

Absolutely get a wideband, just buy an AEM UEGO and be done with it. Its a very important tool. You'll obviously need oil feed/return lines and a tapped oil pan, as well as a downpipe.

I've had the same issue with my WG, where you just have to run a lighter spring. Seemed to me like 2/3 of desired boost = spring pressure. example, my target boost was 18, so I put the 11 or 12 pound spring in. I do run a MBC though. Also, I think jegs/summit makes relatively universal starter heat ...

The important part is getting it balanced as it is only semi balanced from the factory. But thats assuming you'd like to rev it higher than the stock limiter. Aside from that, you'll be just fine. At 400whp the crank isn't going to be anywhere near the weak point.
