Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,
You have no idea. I actually tried to "fix" it a while back by shortening the lateral springs under the cushion. It made a tiny improvement, but just wasn't enough. Before: http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j314/jefrom19/240%20stuff/New%20turbo%20stuff/IMG_20170419_184815652_zpszatty17r.jp...

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,
As I've mentioned many times over the years, I have fairly regular issues with back pain. And I recently realized that my driver's seat is way past worn and just not giving any real support... well, anywhere. The back of the seat actually sits crooked so I couldn't sit straight upright if I wanted t...

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,
Does it blend between two tables (like the secondary knock table during knock)? No, not really. My NISTUNE flex fuel setup had full sized maps for flex fuel that were blended with the primary maps based on ethanol content, which I really liked. Nismotronic only has a few small tables that cover sec...

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,
Had to fix a small oil leak and a small fuel leak today. Everything is good to go now. IAT is installed and working. I was able to get my speed density set up on a toggle switch so I can instantly switch from one to the other. Did some tinkering and got the car idling on @ ~14.7:1 AFRs. But that's a...

Re: Dipstick tube
I don't know if it will help, but if you use a good MAP torch and heat it up, you can carefully bend and reshape it. But yeah, pics would help. Speaking of dipsticks, I wish somebody made a replacement dipstick with a good o-ring seal. Or even better would be a locking dipstick with a good seal. Our...

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,
Yes, John explained to me that the ADC inputs have to be grounded when they aren't in use. The ethanol thing is a little weird. Apparently, the flex sensor input on the board is designed to get a signal directly from the ethanol sensor. But for some reason, the currently released firmware doesn't ha...

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,
It's speed-density conversion time. To start this, I needed to weld a bung onto the aluminum MAF housing for the IAT sensor, which is mandatory for the conversion. I hated to modify the pretty MAF housing, but it's the easiest way to do this. See, with both MAF and MAP/IAT installed at the same time...

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,
This is the reason that I bought the Bluetooth module with the ECU: https://youtu.be/NUBdfq4JGfM Using an app called Tunerview, I can see live sensor data, set warning limits, and even data log. I can actually even export the data log as a .csv file to be viewed in Excel. As shown in the video, I'm ...

Yes, you would need 30% less fuel with race fuel. In that case, the 340 pump would probably be okay, and 1300's would be overkill.

Re: Need help Please 600whp goal
Neither the fuel pump, nor the injectors, are big enough to reach 600whp. ID1300's are only good to about 150hp per cylinder. That's CRANK HP, not WHP. One Walbro 450/485 and 1700's should get you close to 600whp. This thread should be helpful: http://www.ka-t.org/forums/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=54886

Re: 2nd time around
That startup noise is because the teeth of the starter gear are not meshing correctly with the teeth on the flywheel. I ran into this myself with a remanufactured starter. I put it on and it sounded just like an old farm truck starting up. I ended up just having the shop rebuild my old starter and a...

He usually gets back to me within a day or two when I send him a PM, so I'd try that first.
And yes, aftermarket cams are one of the best upgrades you can do. I'd highly recommend JWT S1s or Kelford 272's.

With a stock S14 diff (4.08), Output 3 was dead on for me. According to Duncan, output 1 is the only one that is adjustable. So if output 3 doesn't work, use output 1 and you'll just have to adjust it manually. What do you think so far about the Z32 vs KA trans? I prefer the shift and feel of a KA t...

Yes, thanks for the recommendation! It's pretty awesome, and John has been great with support. We've spoken on the phone several times and emailed back and forth a bunch. I'm having a little trouble getting a smooth idle with the new injectors. Hopefully I can tinker with settings in the next few da...

Re: JimmBooost S14 Build "Weekend Warrior"
I'm running Greaser's mechanically locked tensioners. They're not really need necessary for stock cam setups, but I'd def recommend them with aftermarket cams and cam gears.
I somehow overlooked the post about the trans. That seems like a great deal for a brand new one.

Nice. I bet that turbo puts the old one to shame.
How much did the rebuild cost? I always hear that BB turbos are expensive to rebuild.

Re: JWT adjustable sprockets and BC version 2 cams
With any aftermarket cam setup, you really need to degree the cams using a dial gauge and degree wheel.
It's tedious, but not all that difficult.

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,
Some standalones also have anti-lag that you can set up to retard timing while on the flat shift limiter. This creates lots of exhaust energy and keeps the turbo fully spooled. This is something you probably only need if you have a pretty big turbo. For my setup, I'm not sure it's necessary. It's a...

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,
So, it turns out that the injectors that I was running previously, 1600cc Bosch CNG injectors, are super sensitive to fuel temps and are basically just NOT recommended for use with gasoline or ethanol. They are Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) injectors and were really never meant to use with anything e...

Re: Gm 3.5 bar map sensor on ka24det
Nismotronic uses a break out board which is where all of the analog inputs and the flex sensor input connect. It attaches via ethernet cable to the daughter board. It's the small black box laying on the bag. http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j314/jefrom19/240%20stuff/New%20turbo%20stuff/IMG_20161225...
