Re: KAE-T Base bin

I have copies of the following U12 stock SOHC bins:
US spec:
90stanzamtfed (65e01)
91stockatstanza (65E13)
92stanzaat (65E14)
65e01
65e02
65e03
65e14 (auto)

Australian spec:
95e03
95e11 (auto)
95e13 (auto)
Let me know if any of them suit you needs!

Re: Stock Ka24e ECU Tuning

There are limited tuning options for the SOHC KA24E as I said in my initial reply. The website/forums that dealt heavily with the SOHC ECU are no longer around (eccs-hybridka.com and later eccs-tech.info) and they were a great resource for modifying/enhancing them. It was the U12 Stanza ECU that was...

Re: Stock Ka24e ECU Tuning

D21 KA24E SOHC Hitachi ECU can be chipped and tuned but there is not much info around for them. A better plan is to use a U12 KA24E Jecs ECU which has Consult and therefore more tuning options. Lots more info around for this ECU and except for one wire needing to be cut, it is plug and play into the...

Re: Bad ecu or maf?

Not that I think this is your problem, but from my experience, there is one connection that could cause problems. ECU pin 42 on a hardbody goes to earth, whereas the U12 ECU pin 42 goes to the rear defogger. So the U12 ECU (in the hardbody) might not like having the pin grounded/earthed when it usua...

I have copies of some of the dis-assembly stuff devious produced plus some other files from hybridka, etc. There is an "s13ka" directory that has a memory.txt file (dated 09 July 2009) along with dasm77.exe, dis.exe, s13ka.bin and s13ka.txt (the dis-assembly file) If these are of use to yo...

Re: What would retard timing when motor gets warm?

Remember there are two temperature senders/sensors. One for the gauge and one for the ECU.

@sdaigle240 - in a U12 SOHC bin the IAT timing retard map is at 0510. Not sure if it's the same in an S13 SOHC bin.
oops, just looked at your build -DOHC, so ignore the above.

Re: 92 MT stanza bin file needed?

I've never come across a 92 manual (65E04) bin file, but if you compare a few other auto & manual bins, they should show the same sort of differences. eg: 65E13 AT = 65E03 MT or 65E12 AT = 65E02 MT or our Australian spec 95E13 AT = 95E03 MT. I have a copy of these two Aus spec ones if you want t...

My observations: The TP values in your data log are very low. From my non-boosted log I have here at work, I usually see TP values from around 4~5 at idle, going up to 30~32 at full throttle. Also your injector PW's seem high for the big injectors. Again from the log here at work with stock 260cc in...

I'd be checking the distributor and its output as that is where the ECU gets the information for timing. The CAS signal is a very basic input to the ECU and if it is not giving out the correct signals not much is going to happen. Idle does not put much load on systems but RPM can cause things to bre...

That formula, 'Inj time + X*(14-Voltage)*(.0005)mS' was from Calum's 'S13KA revised.xdf' that I based my u12-ka24e.xdf on. That was a DOHC xdf IIRC. So, I would agree, it probably isn't correct for a SOHC.

I'd definitely be using the map with the smallest timing values, whether it's S13 or U12. You want to be conservative with the timing in the boost area's to be safe and avoid pre-ignition/pinging. To use only one map is as simple as copying your preferred map, say Timing Map 1, over the top of the o...

Use the S13 maps as they are matched to your car. Nothing to suggest about your ignition break-up bar the usual coil/leads/plugs checks. I would ignore all those "constants" at this stage. I added them to the xdf from info in the 65E01 bin dis-assembly I have with the hope of adding what t...

Yeah, I've come across that too. Apparently different Consult software reads the timing advance differently and the KA24E setup is different to other engines. You have to subtract 30deg form the displayed timing, So your 50deg is actually 20deg. To quote deviouska from eccs-hybridka/eccs-tech: "...

If you have connected to the correct U12 ECU pins, it should work fine.
ECU Pin 7 = consult Rx
ECU Pin 14 = consult clk
ECU Pin 15 = consult Tx
Then you only need 12V power and earth to appropriate consult pins

You are correct, SOHC has no knock sensor.
Hybidka.org became eccs-tech.info but that is gone too. Quite a few members on here were members of the above.
And yes, the U12 ecu needs to be socketed. Un-solder the original rom and solder in your socket. Use a good quality machined socket for reliability.
