Re: First dyno disappointment...
Changing your K changes your load which would mean that you are accessing different values from before. Read the nistune mapping guide.

Re: First dyno disappointment...
I looked at your map and compared it to 8-bits. Your timing is extremely aggressive. On an NA tune, wide open throttle is around 25*. Anything after that is boost which results in timing retarded to get away from detonation. You really need to read the nistune mapping guide to understand what each f...

Re: First dyno disappointment...
Check base timing to see if it matches nistune. Check fuel pressure to see if it holds. Also look at your TTP minimum and maximums. TP load cut could might prevent you from reaching certain loads. If your TTP MAX is set to low no matter how much you increase the fuel in your fuel map, it won't let y...

Car runs leaner/ less vacuum with ac on
I have pressure tested and can not find a leak. Vacuum is about 20 to 21hg at idle. When I turn on the ac it goes to about 18hg and the car starts running leaner. EGR and emissions deleted. The only thing that I could think is that I have a vacuum leak after the IACV. Anybody delt with this before a...

I do a 3rd gear pull and as soon as my light starts going to the orange I let off and reduce timing. My light will flicker...

Actual Wideband shows around 11.5. The map trace from what I've seen is close as far as accuracy. Any time you let off the throttle, it will show the most current, average, min, max. They could be a difference of 11.5 accle and full lean on decel. That is all cell/input depenent, but I'm sure you al...

I caliberate my light any time I'm unsure or change anything. To include spark plug gaps. Other Guy- I have synced my base timing wi...

Tuning with a Knock Light
For those of you who do this, how exactly do you get it done. I'm using nistune. I started out with 8-bits timing map. Setup specifics aren't important as this is just a general question. I am however on 91 octane. I took 3 to 4 degree's out of 8- bits timing map and my knock light still goes to the...

I am pretty lost here. I have a Gizzmo Knock light. I know you shouldn't trust it as a soul source of knock detection, but it does tend to ping and so for that it gives me some sort of sanity. I have had my car tuned by 2 different tuners. For sake of comparison, I will only show timing maps that ha...

Just a little update. Here is a pic of it in action. I need to take some pics of when it starts to knock at the higher levels. I really like this thing. It's touch sensitive. Big turbo vs small turbo psi and timing comparison
Should timing be about the same for a bigger turbo vs a smaller one? Given .75* per 1lb of boost. So 10psi on a t28 and a 3071r would run approximately 17* of timing at 10lbs? Or is there a difference in timing. I'm looking at the high pressure low volume vs low pressure high volume concept. Hence b...

Nistune Boost Logging
I thought some of you might be interested in this. They have a DLP converter that has I believe up to 7 or 8 inputs. You can then define an aux input in nistune and this run a GM map sensor for instance. You will have to create a look up table for it. I plan to use this to measure kpa vs TP and RPM....

Did you do anything to the internal wastegate? Access to it is blocked off by 3 welds and it appears to be pressed in as well. I have heard of one member porting the gate and adding a bigger flapper. http://i114.photobucket.com/albums/n270/671_island_pride/5BF7EA14-9333-42F5-92DF-7C3A7B082BA6-13878-...

I've looke at a few from google snap shots. I know that having a 3D Map can be pretty useful while tuning, but I don't quite understand what the maps are suppose to look like as in peaks and valleys. I haven't found anything specific towards that. Can someone explain this to me or point me in the ri...

KA members who have messed with SR's. Wiring/tuning ?
Just so everybody knows, I have not done any research on this. Any how, nistune type 4 boards are compatable with many types of Nissan ecu's. . One of them being the SR20. This is a long shot, but if you were to wire in an SR20 cas and then find a coil on plug that might be compatible (s2000?) and t...
