it looks good, but i think you'd realize more gains if you had raised the velocity stacks off the plenum floor.

if it is going to see boost, i'd go with something between .100" and .125". if it is just an n/a motor you can probably get away with .090". i've done end tanks out of .063" with success, but they are a bit different, and having the experience i have now, if i did them again i'd ...

3/8" mild steel should be fine. i'd probably make a seperate hole in the flange for the wg flapper and try to re-route it back into the downpipe further down stream from the turbine outlet. something like on this 14b downpipe: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f161/weirtech/DSC08794.jpg http://...

it is warped about 1/16" or less. the camera lense makes it appear worse.

brass won't contaminate the ss, but a carbon wire brush would because you are mixing ferrous and non-ferrous metals together. also, it is a good idea to weld both inside and outside on the flange to pipe connections for added strength. also, be sure to bolt the flanges or clamp them down to somethin...

none of the links offered are showing a mandrel bender... they are just pipe benders. a mandrel bender has a "mandrel" that goes inside the pipe as it gets bent so the tubing does not collapse or crimp as it is being bent. if you are finding a real mandrel bender for less than $40k it prob...

just a suggestion: wire brush your piping to get better results when welding. i have a brass wire wheel on my bench grinder and i go over the whole pipe elbows before i start welding them. DON'T use the same wire wheel/brush on mild steel or it will contaminate your ss next time you use it on ss. i ...

bmc isn't the most reliable source for flanges... i've heard some pretty long wait times should be expected. HRS is hot rolled steel. pretty standard for flanges.

as mentioned already, 309L is the best choice for welding ss piping to ms flanges.

oil tank

made this for a 2 stroke 400cc kawi... not exactly sure what bike, but the guy wants to build it to look like a retro race bike. http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f161/weirtech/DSC09351.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f161/weirtech/DSC09352.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f161/weirtech/D...

How to: Bore your intake manifold

i may not use this intake manifold, but i thought i might bore it out just incase i don't get around to building a new one before the engine is in the car. setup on mill: http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f161/weirtech/DSC08454.jpg http://i47.photobucket.com/albums/f161/weirtech/DSC08453.jpg first s...
