Not sure on brand because I can't read the labels from the pictures, but it looks like a t3 turbo, similiar to a turbonetics stage 1 turbo. Check to see if there is any shaft play or oil residue that would suggest blown seals or anything.

For stock internals/350hp, look into Nistune. Its much more affordable and should be sufficient for your goals.

As much as I hate hondas, I think I'd have to go with the K20. It makes as much horsepower/torgue as most stock turbocharged motors (very similiar power to the sr20)., but its naturally aspirated. The head design flows great, and it has a pretty high redline. They're proven to be reliable, light wei...

People say different things for break in periods. The best is 1500 miles, no boost and keep it below 3k rpm. You can get away safely with 1000, but someone I know who didn't break it in long enough managed to crack his forged pistons. He also knocked like a mother and didn't fix his tune. But I will...

Best motor ever

Just out of curiosity and boredom, i've been reading on other forums arguments of what the best motor ever produced is.I understand it is impossible to compare every motor to one another, as there are so many differences and different purposes they are built for. But in your opinions, what is the be...

ah, the 4g63. KING of all 4 cylinders IMO :D Haha, no. Not even close. The heads flow great on paper, and the ports look huge. The head does not perform in the real world like it does on paper. Flow velocity and quality are important. If you would like to see a well designed cylinder head, consult ...

Yea try supakat's idea. You gotta verify if its white smoke or if its blue from burning the oil from the turbo. If its running rich which it might be because of the maf and it running like ****, it should be blackish smoke. Just verify it again and see where you're at. Is the car heating up quicker ...

+1 on the rods. No point in spending all that money so far if you gotta worry about snapping the stock rods. Do it right the first time so you don't have to do it again. Everything else looks good price wise, though I would stick with the OEM timing chain kit, i've heard aftermarket sets just break.

Fuel rail/FPR

Just wanted to see what fuel rails and FPR's people around here are running. I'm looking into an AEM fuel rail/AEM universal FPR, but its a bit pricey and lots of pieces to buy separately (they gotta squeeze every penny they can out of you). Wanted to see if there is any better deals I should look i...

If its dumping fuel then yes, the ecu needs tuned correctly. But also if he messed up the ecu somehow, it could be not functioning correctly. But last time I saw a motor dumping fuel like that, it was a simple setting messed up when he was tuning it.
