Re: Bosch Injector Fitment?

I'm not sure. I'm running the Xcessive fuel rail, which has 14 mm injector bores. I'm using 14mm Treadstone adapters simply to extend the length of my injectors. The Xcessive fuel rail is made for 60mm long Bosch injectors, and my new ID1700x's are about 24mm too short. I also have an OBX fuel rail ...

Re: Gm 3.5 bar map sensor on ka24det

I forgot to mention. The 5V output from the break-out-board is a voltage regulator. To use it, you have to send 12V to the board on the "12V in" pin. Without this 12V in, the 5V output simply won't work.

Use the 5V output from the break-out-board to power it. I'm running a 3 bar GM MAP sensor and that's what I did.

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,

Yes, exactly. Without it, my car loses boost between shifts, so there is a small delay before its back at full boost. With it activated, I only lose 6-7 psi during shifts. Several months ago, I raced a friend on here and our cars were very evenly matched (at that time). The big difference was that h...

I finally got flat-shift, aka no-lift-to-shift, aka full-throttle-shift,... working and it is FANTASTIC ! I'm using the cruise control's cancel switch (which normally disables cruise control as soon as you press the clutch pedal). It was already there and it was a switched ground, so all I had to do...

If you don't want to cut into the hood support or use head spacers, your only other option is to lower and/or tilt the engine. The KA already sits crooked, so I wouldn't try and tilt it any more. Xcessive makes lowering engine mounts that bring the motor down 3/4": https://xcessivemanufacturing...

This back and forth is all part of the building process. I'm human, I do dumb things....but most of the time I learn from them. Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,

The on-board logging can be triggered via RPM, TPS, or Load. I have it set to kick on at 500 rpm, and stop at 0. So it pretty much records anytime the engine is running. There isn't much space though, so it fills up quick. I've only got it set this way because I've been trying to isolate this weird ...

Sorry, I was on Ambien and went on a little rant. But I so hate that flange!! After seeing how far away the pickup was from the pan on my setup, along with the piss-poor "baffling" and trap doors, I would never run that setup as-is. ESPECIALLY on a car that would see auto-cross or other tr...

.I haven't had the pan off in a little while, Does anyone know if the KA24de engines have that extra support bracket for the oil pickup tube? Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,

I've been chasing my tail with these new pressure sensors and I finally found my culprit today. The signal wire for my oil pressure sensor wasn't seated in the connector properly and had gotten pushed back. If that wasn't bad enough, the wire wasn't crimped correctly. I fixed that and now I'm gettin...

It looks to me like it may be off. The only way I know to verify 100% is with a dial indicator and degree wheel. What about counting links on the lower chain between the dot on the lower sprocket (crank) and the one on the upper sprocket?

Yes, you can use a DOHC ECU on a SOHC motor. I think you have to move a few pins around on the main ECU connector.

Your first batch looks really good. Is the front piece with the text on it a big sticker that goes over that section? Or something else?

Your cam timing looks right, but it's hard to say 100% without seeing more of the lower chain. It might be a good idea to check cam timing again just to be sure. The reason I asked about the plugs, is that a 7 heat range plug will foul a lot quicker if not run hard than a 6 or even 5 heat range woul...
