I have not worked on too many cars, but from my experience:
Hardest: 1991 MR2.
Easiest: 1991 RX7. Helped my cuz remove, rebuild and reinstall a 13B in his FC. Tiny little motor in huge engine bay = pleasure to work on. LOL

Wow. Tons of great info. Thanks everyone. :D I'm going to have to retract my statement about adding timing until I hear knock. I think im just going to create a safe tune, monitor with the DET can to make sure there is no knock, and leave it there. Wifey and I had a baby three months ago, so I cant ...

You are probably going to want to advance your cruise area. Thanks for the advice emo_tactical9. Ill take a look at the stock timing map and see where I can add some more timing in the lower load areas. I'm going to put together a DET Can within the next couple weeks so i will be able to slowly add...

I'll probably just do the tial or greddy rs, hose are the two I've been looking at. I haven't taken a look at synapse yet though Be careful if you find a used Greddy RS. I went out of my way to find one, and have had a couple issues. The main thing is that Greddy diaphrams are crappy. If you can bl...

Timing Map Review
Hey guys. I’ve been working on a tune for my setup and would like some advice and suggestions on my timing map. My motor is a stock 1993 KA24DE. I am currently running a 50 Trim T3/T4 with a .63ar turbine at 9 psi, and STI side feed injectors. I created a conservative tune and did some pulls to gath...

On the drive home from class today I stopped at a light, and my car almost went poop on me. Would barely hold idle at 450rpms and seemed to struggle and would be rich between shifts, also would bounce from rich to lean on the wideband after letting off the throttle on the highway. Get to investigat...

There is a small check valve between your intake manifold and the brake booster. I believe your vacuum block should be on the intake side of the check valve. Yours seems to be on the brake booster side. The check valve is supposed to close under pressure which would explain why your boost gauge read...

You probably just have air trapped in the system. I had a similar issue after i replaced my water pump and thermostat. The car would run perfect for miles and then start overheating. I must have bled the system a dozen times without success. I found that the bleeder bolt near the block sits higher t...

Those correction numbers seem off. I think you would use -50% correction at idle if you were running 550cc injectors. You may be having an issue because of your in and out setting. I'm sure someone else on here can be more helpful, because I have zero experience with SAFCs. LOL Check out the link be...

jholman05, Amazing work! That engine bay is immaculate. Also, props on your setup. Those quarter mile times, at relatively low boost on a T28 setup are insane. I was almost tempted to pick up a prepackaged turbo kit a while back, but came to the realization that I could piece together a higher quality kit, and pay either the same or just slightly more than those kits. I put together a complete turbo kit for about $2000 with quality parts. This is including...

That seems like a pretty sweet deal. Especially since they are high impedance and you don't have to worry about running resistors. I saw in your build thread that you are running an AEM top feed fuel rail. I would verify the opening size of your fuel rail. These injectors seem to have an 11mm top. I...

Shift, About your idle, you should check your spark plugs. If your actually running that lean, the tips may already be showing signs by turning white. If they look ok, you may have just developed a leak at the exhaust manifold after one of your pulls. Try re-tightening the exhaust manifold bolts and...

I actually came across the same issue not too long ago. My idle would drop when coming to a stop and I knew it was my IACV. There is a pretty cool event going on at Countyline Dragway in Miami in a couple of weeks. The event is being organized by "Street Racing Made Safe." They do half a day of standard drag racing, and for the other half they do roll racing like on the streets. I went to one of these events a ...
