I've got a different standalone gauge on my daily driver (DB digital instead of G series, but it hooks up the same). I just put the LC-1 under the hood and ran the wires through an existing hole in the firewall.

But i'd still like to know why i couldn't get anything when i tried to use it on the falling edge?
The MS2/Extra code uses both edges to get sync. If you switch the edges around, it gets a bit confused.

Sounds good. Sometimes the blinks are too fast to easily follow and the light will appear to be on steady when it comes to D14.

Matt, I know you told me the 240sx has a PWMIAC and suggested me get it, but what is that exactly? pwm(?) idle air control? 1.Also, since I didn't incorporate Q16 in my MS1 buildup, I can just use that spot to bolt the PWMIAC TIP120, right? just don't solder down into the board. Yes on both counts....

That's exactly what we had in mind. An adapter for remote mount FPRs and such. Thanks for the feedback, everyone,

Ford Zetec with Jenvey ITBs. Puts about 130 hp to the wheels, which can be a handful when it only weighs 1400 lbs.

Anyone want AN to KA fuel rail fittings?

Hi everyone, This is an idea we've been kicking around, and I thought I'd ask here to see if it's something that would sell. We've been thinking of making AN flare fittings that bolt into a KA24E or KA24DE fuel rail, and let you attach AN hose ends. This would make it easier to use racing fuel parts...

You can move the pins but it requires one of AMP's pin extractor tools.

His circuit would definitely work with the AEM-style wheel, not sure about the DSM 4/2 setup though.

The basic instructions cover how to build the MegaSquirt with standard firmware; you can think of the MS1/Extra setup as a third party program, that needs its own instructions. So its manual lists how assembly is different when using their code. With D1 and D2, you can leave the jumpers in place; th...

EDIS requires a different ignition input:

Some Stim versions like the 2.1 do not give a correct RPM signal with the EDIS mods.

Part of it is a bit of caution as there's several different ways to install a Megasquirt on these cars, and if you loaded a tune for one running a different ignition (Megasquirt users have quite a habbit of odd ignition swaps like sticking a 4G63 ignition on a KA-T), it can do a bit of damage. This ...

Change it from that circuit to the normal (step 50a) circuit, and add a 5 volt pull up.

You're mixing the mod styles. You should go with a normal input mod with a 5 volt pull up for the primary input if you're going to go with that style second trigger mod.

Very weird. I would try first installing the latest version of MegaTune and the INI files for the newest MS1/Extra code (I see it's currently set up for 027c - that wasn't all that stable a release) and then reloading the firmware again. Let me know how that goes.

The version in that picture doesn't match the mods you describe; you'd need to go with one version or the other. Mixing the two can be trouble.

The center pin of JP1 on a V3.57 board is TachSelect on a V3.0. Other than that, the labels are all pretty much the same thing.

Yes, you can special order a V3.57 with a 4 bar MAP sensor or set up for an external MAP sensor. We generally set up custom mod orders via email instead of through the website, although some standard mods do show up on the website now and we are planning to add others.

would prefer to make some sort of adapter to wire into the stock harness in case I wanted to switch back for whatever reason I've seen that done on a KA before. You're correct, MS2/Extra mods are a bit different. The MS2/Extra mods are described here: http://www.msextra.com/ms2extra/MS2-Extra_4g63.htm We haven't tested them out yet ourselves but plan to do this very soon. BTW, they're working on native Nissan CAS support to get some use out of the 360 degre...

Prior to MegaSquirt, the only tuning device I'd used before was a Holley Adjust-A-Jet kit. It does have a steep learning curve; a large part of this is from having to make your own start up map. The actual tuning can in some ways be simpler than some of the software we've seen to hack Nissan ECUs, b...

For the more potential donors, the non turbo 2.2 Probe / MX-6 / 626 has the same rail as the turbo version. So if you find one of these cars in the junkyard and it's not the turbo, don't let that stop you, the part is the same.

Yep, wideband O2 sensors aren't like most sensors that just put out a simple voltage or resistance. They have a couple devices in them that need a control circuit to change what the sensor is doing and interpret the signals from it. Some systems have the controller built into the gauge, while others...

It's tough to get a spark curve really dialed in without a dyno, but you can often get fuel tuning dialed in pretty close. We have an article on tuning fuel without a dyno on our website here. I have seen one Supra that ate wideband sensors pretty often - the sensor was about 2" from the turbo. The first thing I'd check in a situation like this is the power and ground connections. LC-1s are a bit finicky about both. Check the LC-1's ground lug on the engine block for signs of corrosi...
