Elaborate on "frying turbo" what exactly does that mean?

What oil have you been using?

Maybe rings weren't clocked properly or a valve problem in #4.

Re: Realistic 450hp+ Build Help.

What does "450+" mean? You want 500, 600? or just 450?

I made 450whp on a BW S256 (GT30R equiv.) with 850cc injectors on pump with AEM meth kit.
Stock head (everything) with minor clean up and valve job.
Build short block. Wiseco, Eagle., ARP etc.

-6 will be good for e85.

.82 divided would be similar to a .63 single.
I wouldn't go bigger than .82 unless you're revving to 8000.

King Race Bearings - Interest Poll

I've been in talks with King Bearings about making a more race-oriented bearing set for the KA. As some of you may know, ACL has gone bankrupt and their race bearings and even duraglides are nowhere to be found. The only other option is the Clevite 77 P which are more of a factory replacement, albei...

Re: New wiseco HD pistons?

Skirts collapsed on their off-the-shelf units so I asked if they could make some HDs.

New pistons have a strutted design for more strength in the skirt area and are about 50g heavier.

AFAIK the l6 engines pumps are not compatible. I don't think that's your problem..i think it's oil starvation

Re: dead end of oil pump

I would suggest buying the Xcessive oil pan with a a SR20 lower oil pan such as Tomei. These pans have trap doors and baffle plates to prevent oil starvation.

You could also use an Accusump.

Re: How do you see these pistons?

This is usually from worn piston rings or and/or improper bore size.

If the compression is OK just run it. You may want to try a different oil.

Re: Allowable injector flow difference

If you're going to run that overachieving injector, put it in the third hole. It is usually the hottest and most prone to pre-ignition.

Re: First Dyno. JGS kit. This seem right?

The only real way to know is to run it at the track and look at the MPH. 10psi you should be 107-110mph. Enthalpy is a conservative tuner, especially for stock motors. That said I made 286whp at 10psi on a dyno jet with my enthalpy tune and a better tube manifold, everything else the same. You're pr...

New Wiseco HD Pistons

Just FYI Wiseco is designing a set of KA24DE HD pistons which should be good for >500hp.

If you're in the market, consider waiting a few weeks to check them out.

You can block off the ext. Wg port on the manifold.

The efr turbos are bigger so you want to make sure the manifold and placement is made for it.

When you ask someone to tune a car on pump gas they are going to be conservative. There isn't much margin for error on pump. Depending on octane, I would add at least a couple degrees from 4000+ to get a more linear powerband but overall it's not bad considering the low reading dyno. Best way to jud...
