If you're that concern about it, just go to lowes of home depot and buy some fittings and some thermal hosing.

there is a possibility that you might have shorted out your ecu (highly doubtful though). Did you disconnect the battery before plugging the ecu in?

A mask and gloves are suppose to be worn, not just to protect you from light and heat, Its to also stop radiation. Arc welding gives off UV light so intense that its about 10x brighter than the sun at ...

yeah, but the rust I just mentioned is just surface rust and won't affect anything. It will rust under the paint anyways because of the ionization that happens to the dissimilar metals being fused and being exposed to air afterwards, or something like that :p. After you get your certs all this techn...

http://www.welding.org/ But I would use anything XX18. 18 is the general multi position rod, and I personally find it easier to lay a bead (where the slag just flakes without giving you any hassle). 7018 was easiest for me, but 6018 should behave the same, 7024 and 7024(?) (there is a letter suffix...

yes a s13 KA24DE (DOHC) distributor will fit onto a s14 KA24DE engine. you need to cannibalize the connectors feom a S13 and replace the S14 dizzy connectors. Then you you need to wire in an external coil and a ballast transistor (if the coil doesn't have an internal ballast)

you should use a XX18 rod. first 2 numbers refers to the strength and flux type, last 2 refers the welding position the rod is meant for.

Only thing that stick is remotely useful for on a car are heavy metal components i.e. anything an 8th inch thick or thicker. (may~be 16th) Don't even try to repair body. You burn right through and warp the surrounding sheet in the process. Don't get me wrong, its a good way to start and get into wel...

are you sure? Stick welding leaves slag over the bead and sometimes you have to use a slag hammer to get it off. Thats most likely what is flaking off. You can try running a slower bead, see what happens.

What rod are you using?

FSM says that the TPS should read 4V at 55 degrees on the tps.

OBD1 says this should be tested on pins 4 and 5 (cable plug on the TPS)

OBD2 says it should be tested on pins 2 and 3 (with connectors facing the right side, the bottom plug, the bottom most pins.

You clean by grinding, not because of rust, but because mill scale. There is a thin layer of contaminated steel on the top layer of all steal that hinders proper penetration for a weld to the base metal, its from the steal processing. If you have a TIG and accidentally have it setup for aluminum (AC...

are those butt joints, or were just laying a bead?

pic 5 looks good, but what really matters are the welds viewed from the other side.

you should really clean the pieces where its going to be welded before welding. That should help with the under cutting along the edge of your beads.

Welcome to the world of KAs. They have a bad time with the injector o-rings. Replace the o-ring, lube it up, stick it in. It is a bit more technical then this but...the ecu can't really flood only one cylinder. O-ring. Done. Or its a bad or stuck injector. Take it out, use a 9v on it and see if it ...

Drain your coolant, then jack the front of the car 5-10 degrees, then fill it again. Air usually gets trapped where the temp sensor is.

Might get lucky if to jack it up and run it to "burp" the system.

Hope that helps.
