The muffler is what does the quieting work. The resonator is basically a frequency attenuator that takes some of the raspy-ness out of the sound.
+1 and the turbo will help muffle a tiny bit

i have thought about that but i would rather just take the time to build the engine i have correctly. and tune it correctly and not worry about having to swap engines. 100$ for a spare engine and the extra time you have to work on it is well worth the money believe me. being without the car until y...

I think the Honda racing radiators will be OK, I've seen people run them before and have seen them for sale modified for KA's... If you try it just monitor your temps closely and report on how it works. The stock cooling system utilizes the clutch fan and has a secondary electric fan that kicks on w...

I'm not sure if it is really fair to compare engines like that... I believe there are other factors besides the displacement that make an engine "comparable". For example, I'm sure the SRT4 engine runs a much lower compression ratio than the KA because it's boosted from the factory. It's p...

There also aren't very many convenient/inexpensive options to go with. The best advice would be a knocklite and a fresh sensor... but even that should be treated with a high amount of caution. Otherwise you are looking at around $1000+ knock sensing solutions...

You could hop on the freeway in 5th gear and never use the clutch, so mileage isnt really important. Just go down the...

I agree on putting it on a separate circuit. I've got a positive line going from battery to a relay, the signal for the relay is my cigarette lighter circuit, and that powers my wideband, water temp, boost, oil pressure, and efans.

^ Yes, so when you do the "spin one wheel" experiment, the vlsd is going to behave like an open. When the two wheels are moving at larger difference in speed, it heats up the fluid which expands etc... which leads to the wheels locking. Also, a lot of times the fluid (fluid being the fluid...

You might want to look into an alternate maf before you have it tuned, something like a n62 or at least a n60 for the blow through setup. The stock maf usually tends to be smaller than the piping which means you are going to create a bottleneck effect which isn't a good thing

We couldn't figure it out either. It doesn't appear there should be anything that fits into the holes that were removed. I thought that maybe some sort of adapter would be needed, but then, why would they call it universal? The extra holes dont even line up with the 4x100 pattern

Well if it is the turbo oil seals, it should leak horribly once RPM is above idle due to an increase in oil pressure. It would also get worse as oil temps increase due to a decrease in oil viscosity. Ok, so because it's only leaking at idle, that's evidence against turbo oil seal, and evidence for ...

I was possibly thinking oil seals in the turbo as well. Although I have no experience with the inner workings of the head, if the valve seals were bad, would they not go bad somewhat randomly? In other words, wouldn't one or two go bad at first, causing a sort of "puffing" affect? This is ...
