Re: DIYPNP HELP
Sorry, didn't see your pm before the last post: OPTO ground is in 12v to pin #38 no CAS wired in #53 Am I looking at the wrong FSM (http://www.nicoclub.com/FSM/240sx/1995/)? Looks like the OPTO signal needs to ride on pin 41/45 for both the basic trigger on stock disk, and the 12 teeth per rev on th...

Re: DIYPNP HELP
Cool, looks like there is a 12v pull up resistor in r3 for OPTO in, and there appears to be a jumper for OPTO ground (right? Hard to see in pics) One thing I can't tell by the pics, is which pin on the jumper board is connected to OPTO in on the mainboard. Which pin is it? Have you guys tried starti...

Re: DIYPNP HELP
Missing the resistor for input 1 would only affect if you were using input 1 for something. you should not need the jumper to s1 because you should be using the logic level coil output to the stock coil transistor (not directly driving the coil itself) tell us how the CAS sensor input is wired... do...

Re: Wanted to get some opinons on my new setup.
I don't think it's necessarily a benefit to run low impedance injectors, its just that in the past, most high flow injectors were low impedance. I would probably stick with high impedance injectors if they are available in the size you want to run.

Re: MegaSquirt/Tuner Studio Tuning Theories/Concepts
I would consider adding the additional fuel into the required fuel field (either by changing injector size or stoich ratio) instead of the ve table. This way, all of the scalar maps that depend on required fuel (warm up enrichment, afterstart enrich, cranking pulse, etc) have the extra 30% of fuel b...

Also, it will be easier to try out sequential and injection timing when the engine is running steady, so just worry about getting good running at operating temp (verify timing, adjust ve) and go from there

Re: Megasquirt pnp 95 ka24de batch fire jumper settings.
Did you see the reply in the diyautotune forum? With the jumpers in the sequential locations, change injector drivers from standard to additional. That should enable all processor outputs to run 4 individual injectors. Selecting standard injector drivers is only telling the processor to output two i...

Why do you want to revert to batch firing?

Re: distributor limitations
Distributor meaning running a single coil is the limiting factor (not necessarily the distributor itself) I'm sure there have been guys getting into the 400s (and probably a few with more) with a single coil, but they're running small spark gaps and at least the coil hardwire mod and/or higher power...

Re: Supakat's Thread
No doubt sequential is mainly helpful at idle/part throttle. I wanted it because I wanted to gain consistency in daily running; untimed injection means any time during the cycle, and injecting fuel on part open intake valves versus closed and able to vaporize the fuel from one start to another is bo...

Re: MS1 - hard/NO starts
Thanks, I didn't realize there was documentation like that for the PNP's... BUT, you're wrong - I have an S14 KA24DE - the injectors DO NOT receive power directly from the battery, it comes through the key as I said before and that's what is shown in the schematics I posted ;) Don't act like I have...

Ah gotcha. Just wanted to make sure your log wasn't corrupted (since it threw errors when I opened it in MLV since many of the fields I normally look for weren't there). Also just FYI - I checked my logs (which is set on the default logging profile and logs everything apparently) my logs grab data 1...

Re: MS1 - hard/NO starts
The diypnp docs show that pin 47 for 12v power to the ecu. All other power is controlled by the same circuits that power them in a stock car. Exception being wideband, which needs to be powered by switched +12v. Fuel injector +12v is provided direct from the battery (see the stock wiring in the fsm)...

Just curious - are you manually removing datalogging fields? All of the datalogs I've ever taken have like 10x the amount of fields as the one you provided

HP is changing... you gained 75hp at 5400rpm to line up with the big increase in torque at that spot. Overall numbers are not increasing because for some reason, your torque curve falls off after that to the level you were at 19psi/93oct.

I would recommend logging a few more times to make sure that jump in rpm is not a reoccurring issue. What trigger wheel setup are you using? Did the datalog show sync loss at that point? Post the msl if you have the chance.

No, you need to use the regular datalogging accessible from the file menu tool bar, or ctrl+L. Composite logger shows the crank/cam input signals only.

Thank you BigLoukaT, I found the instructions in the FSM last night to trace them back to the ECU and will do that this evening. Exhaust gas temp sensor would only be used on california models, so I wouldn't sweat it. Have you followed the Diagnostic Procedure 4 for code number 13 to trace the wires? Check continuity from the harness to the ecu connector. The ground circuit for the engine temp sensor is not a common ground; i...

Not near the pump... on the lines that Run along the crossmember If you want to know for sure, use a multimeter and check continuity between that plug and the pin on the engine harness. Use an fsm to see what pin number correlates. or if you can see what color wires there are, you can use the fsm to...
