Re: Need ECU recommendations please
Matt, just to confirm "A rapid RPM change while cranking can throw off the timing" (bolded): are you referring to timing being thrown off only while cranking (or momentary errors in timing), or continuing to be off after cranking and during running (sustained timing error during running)?...

Re: Need ECU recommendations please
So does MS always have to be tweaked and tuned or can you get a decent and stable tune Generally, once the tune is set, it stays set until you throw another round of mods on the engine. The cold start is something that you may have to wait for cold weather to dial in if for some reason the default ...

Many of the difficulties you listed have known fixes at this point. I am not a pnp user but I am a ms2e user. off the top of my head; destroyed starters, fxxked up flywheels, Having the engine kick back when starting can happen on some 240SXs because of the wide angle between the reference slot and t...

Re: Need ECU recommendations please
Ok, so I've got a vested interest in seeing you chose a MegaSquirt PNP here, but I'll give you a list of questions to help decide what is right for you. 1. If you don't have experience with rewiring a car or are paying for the system to be installed, a plug and play setup will save a lot of hassle a...

I'd go back to the MSQ you had before you tried the VE Analyzer. Does that fix it?

There are several ways to do this. Easiest way would be to remove the stock coil and power transistor, keep the distributor, and put one of these in it: http://www.diyautotune.com/tech_article ... _discs.htm

Re: ka24e ms2 v3.0
The signal wires run to the BIP373 spark outputs. See this link for wiring them up:
http://www.diyautotune.com/tech_article ... squirt.htm
You could bolt the second BIP373 to the endplate or the case lid.

Yes, and the center wire is usually 12V power.
This one needs external ignition modules or BIP373s to drive it.

There are different VW coils out there - I thought you meant the sort with built in ignitors.
You'd need a D-sub depinning tool and crimp connector.

They should work, but you may need to change the pull up resistors to 100 ohm.

They use a new method that ramps up how many cylinders have the spark cut, instead of cutting a fixed fraction of spark events.emo_tactical9 wrote:I'm not sure what you mean Supa, but the new (3.3.1) firmware took away the "cut X sparks from Y spark events" part of launch control for some reason.

It's wired up, and we have already entered in the basic settings in the base map. You simply adjust the PWM Idle Duty table - larger values open the valve further.

1. For the dizzy wiring, the diyautotune harness has a black and a white wire with a noise insulator around it. I see on diyautotune's website to hook up the white wire on the harness(goes to pin 24) to the white wire on the dizzy. Yes. And you can use the black wire in the shield for the sensor gr...

Re: Trying to get my Ka-t to start Diypnp Megasquirt help
It is really not a problem as your car takes two cycles to turn. I don't like working the starter too long to burn out. 10% of the time will turn on first bump, 40% 2nd bump and 90% 3 bumps. Rarely does it take more than 5 tries like 10%. I know it has to do with syncing of the wheel but I was hopi...
