Re: Air Conditioning Help

If the clutch is continually connected to the a/c pulley, you may have burned out the compressor as that is not meant to be running 100% of the time. If the pump is running all the time, the high side will continue to build pressure until something breaks. Newer cars have a thermo switch on the pull...

Re: fresh rebuild: smoking and chain rattling

Check the plugs and see if they are fouled with gasoline, maybe one of the injectors is bad. I don't know why they would say bad rings would cause gasoline in the oil?

My final PCV setup

After changing my PCV setup several times during the 8 years I've been KA-t, I've finally picked one that I'm happy with. This may not be news to some people, but I've found a lot of varying information on this site. 1) Valve cover -> aftermarket air/oil separator -> pre-turbo intake 2) Stock air/oi...

Re: Running the IACV with check valve?

Yeah I'm going to run a check valve. It should help prolong the IACV valve lifespan and maybe some boost response. Just trying to figure out a configuration to get one to fit. I'll definitely post pics when it's done since something I think everyone should be doing and a much better choice than prop...

Running the IACV with check valve?

I was talking to one of my friends and said he recommended running a check valve on the IACV line to keep it from seeing boost. So far I've been running my IACV connected to my cold pipe without one. Apparently the Supras have a check valve built into their IACV but most KA-t guys cap this off and l...

Boost according to your tune/build. I think 12 is a healthy number as long as your mods can support it. I am currently running JWT tune for 50# injectors and Cobra MAFS. It has been rock solid forever. I plan on switching to AEM EMS mk 2 at some point. As for coating, I would recommend sending it of...

I've been running their kit for 3-4 years, no problems. I would recommend before you install it is get it coated because its a bi*ch to get it all off once its installed. My previous setup was top mounted and coated which didn't generate that much heat. This one being bottom mounted I got lazy and d...

I don't think it matters, because the clutch/flywheel are supported by the input shaft and the pressure plate which presses down on the flywheel, pretty much negating the downward force of the heavy clutch. If anything, I think the smaller diameter multiplate clutches are better since they exert les...

It seems really low to me, but like everyone has said, dynos aren't necessarily always 100% accurate either. Is this a rebuilt motor? Do a compression test and check your AFRs. A long long time ago, I ran a similar setup (t3/t04e 57-trim), JWT tune, Cobra MAFS, on a stock 95 block. Here's my old dyn...

Aftermarket oil pres install question

Been having a hard time screwing with my aftermarket oil pressure gauge. In place of the stock oil pressure sender, I installed a 2 foot long -3 ss line. Then on the end of that, I installed the oil pressure sensor. When I ran the car, I wasn't getting a reading on the pressure gauge right away so I...
