Re: Swirl Control Valve Actuator (leaving it on)
Why not just connect the SCV to a manifold vacuum source? That way at low throttle events like cruise, it be closed and when you open the throttle, it opens as there is not vacuum to close the SCV..

Weird issue. NDS log included
So here is my issue. I will be under full throttle when the engine starts pinging. I looked at my log file, The whole ecu goes wonky. I have 2 logs. One shows where it happens under light throttle, and the other under full power. I am going outside now to check my grounds, but i dont think that is i...

Odd problem with TP and Temperature
So here is my issue. I am running a basic daughterboard with a tune i have put together. Runs great except it seems the TP shifts with te weather. Some days at 14psi the max TP will be 67 and others it will be 74. on my setup that is a large jump. It moves my timing into an area that is too retarded...

Re: Runs rich when under heavy electrical load
It's grounds. Seen this in a few threads. At least that solved it for FLAT OUT and one other member. Basically just added a bunch of engine grounds. Well, I went ahead and checked the grounds. That was the problem. Reason i didn't check those first, when i got the car 3 years ago, i did that. Guess...

Runs rich when under heavy electrical load (SOLVED)
I noticed this after i swapped my bad battery for a new battery. When i turn the headlights and/or the blower on, the car runs richer. Goes from 14.7 to 12.x. If i just turn the headlights on, it goes to 13. So it is dependent on how much of an electrical load exisits. I have played around with the ...

Re: Spark blowout at 14psi
something is giving out on you man, I ran .04 for a long time, blaster ss coil and relay mod. From 8-18psi and a couple spikes over 20psi. I am also curious about the xs box..is it like the aeromotive pump booster where it increases voltage or is it constantly at 20volts? it runs consistently at 20...

Re: OBD1 KA24DET TUNES HOSTED AND POSTED!
Here is my tune. Runs prefect. Might be a good start for someone with a similar setup. I currently Max out the MAF, so i shortened the TP Scale to match. I am currently switching to a Z32 maf and will post another tune later. https://docs.google.com/file/d/0B4KfGNvn_lWJSUo5NS1tcU1mb2c/edit?usp=shari...

Valve seals are SUPER EASY!!! http://www.toyotool.com/ I have used this tool in SR's and KA's on and off the car. It is freaking awesome! An air hold is all you need to do it on the car. Most compression testers come with the hose that can hook to your air comressor. If you do some digging around, I...

It also depends on how fast the engine is cranking, and cam timing. Say, a 248 cam swap would get different compression numbers than a standard 240/248. Im pretty sure the FSM has some kind of Compression spec,. X PSI at something like 250rpm. A better way to find out if it is dying is a compression...
