Re: fresh rebuild: smoking and chain rattling

Thanks! I fixed it with both of your advice. Had good oil pressure to the top of head, checked the plugs and one was flooded so I change the injector O-rings & problem FIXED!!! Changed the oil/filter again & it has no more gas! Also the smoking stopped! I'm glad this rebuild came out good. T...

fresh rebuild: smoking and chain rattling

Hey everyone, it's my first time rebuilding a single cam KA24e. I have rebuilt the ka24de many times with success but I am having problems with getting this single cam to stop smoking and the tensioner on the timing chain is very loud, it pretty much sounds like a diesel motor. The head was fully re...

FRESH paint! :D 8) Had some over spray on the IC, I was pissed at first but I now I like that it's a sleeper. I'll put some paint thinner later and hope it comes off easily.

I have Deuthwerks 810cc injectors. I'm running 93 octane daily on 12psi and when I want more power I can run e85 with the flip of a switch(I have an enthalpy tune) I love this tune because it was cheap and has been very reliable, and I drive my car everyday. If you have the time and patience to lear...

You still have that front bumper? And if you do would you want to get rid of it?
Thanks, and I just painted the car with that bumper though.

I have been running clevites for two years on my KA-t with 380HP with no problems at all, and I drive it hard everyday.

You have to first get the crankshaft cleaned and polished, then your machinest will tell you what size bearings to get.

Nice! I have that same boost gauge. I wonder how much timing it's running also. I'm sure it's very conservative, I'll do a pull with ECU talk to check. I'm only running 13 lbs though.

^ 65mph in second! Damn! I'm getting about 20-25 mpg with city and highway driving. That's without hitting boost to much. With the t3/t4 60 trim, .63 A/R the KA is not building boost till about 3,200 rpms. I'm glad I went with this size turbo.
