air fuel mixtures and timing can both trick EGT's so it's ineffecient in my opinion. If youre tune causes your EGT's to elevate too much then the tuner sucks. Not saying it doesn't have it's benefits though.. Dyno can be somewhat of knock sensor if you tune for MBT. Knock usually comes long after MB...

For tuning, water temp gauge is only useful to know when to STOP tuning. If you're on a dyno and your temps go out of normal range, that's when you know to stop. take a break..which is normal for all tuning. EGT's are too ambiguous for tuning so I don't reccomend using it. If you are running alcohol...

you guys are blowing things out of proporation with this Cory god stuff. Cory tries to tell everyone how simple and easy it is by showing us his simple set up. If you look at his car it's one of the simplest but biggest power I've seen. And for the person who said that Cory knows how to tune....he m...

I live out here in San diego and work for UCSD (my school) parking for 11/hr. Its ok but the great thing is that since I work for the federal gov't I barely g...

I'm sorry but if you want to compete with ebay manifolds, it would be mandatory to be sub $300. If you can offer these at sub $200 then you would definitely gain some buyers. Because from the pictures, it doesn't look worth more than $200.

Tanman - 480sx wasn't talking about using a HF welder if that's what you're implying. He was telling me that the HF tube notcher will suffice.

Pictures of MIG welded manifolds

Looks to me like theres lots of nice threads in this section but I see a lot of TIG welding. I hope it's not scaring people off by showing their mig welding skills. This summer I plan on mig welding my own log manifold with a millermatic 140. I'll post pics when I can. Can others show pictures of th...

holy sh*t Aaron. Looks like your timing log is the same as mines! that timing is crappy as hell and it looks too low. I thought I just did something wrong with my car too. Funny thing is the car still felt pretty fast for some reason even with the crappy timing. I guess just send it back and tell hi...

sorry sort of off topic but....anyone know what material the intake manifold is made out of? I agree that cast (exhaust mani) would be tricky to weld on especially with a weak welder. But if the intake manifold is mild steel or something...it would be easier for a typical welder to do something.

where_youatt - your'e first design will not let the crank case breathe. you're merely sending in fresh air but it has no way to escape. An alternative is to tap the timing cover and hook up your intake pipe (pre-turbo) to it. This way, the turbo will be sucking the air out as well as your cold charg...

hell yeah nice write up! but instead of grinding down the upper bracket...can't you juse use the outter most ribs of the alternator pulley? That would shift the belt towards the right correct? Unless that slight angle would not be fit for high rpms?? regardless...THANK YOU
