i thought it was 180-185... either way, even at your brother compression im 120psi lower.. so that is almost a full cylnder worth of air diff... which explains alot, im gonna go ahead and put a bit more of a rush on swapping in the built motor now..

swapped to my stock s13 cams in the stock location, no diff.. the power band sucked actually, and i had to lean out the mix alot, just shows they are flowing less air... so, i did a compression test i have a habbit of using my flashlight to peek down at the cylnders when i pull the plug just to see ...

This motor is super low on compression, like double didgits low... And, I'm pretty sure having eat to much overlap is a key problem, tomorrow, I'm gonna rip out the 248 intake cam and 264 exhaust cam and swap back in stock s14 cams in the stock location, and if that makes it spool like it should ill...

well, im going to pull my intake cam out tomorrow and put the bcv2 back in so i am just running 264/264 im wondering if i have to much overlap and that is what is causing the slugish spool compared to you.. i guess i do have a long tube manifold too though.. but this is a significant diff... anyway,...

well, only got 2 pulls with it and it is significanlty better than the 18cm2 housing.. i was gettting full boost @5k i beleive, and also that is without any tuning ie. pulling timing and adding fuel on spool up to help speed things up a bit.... only got a few pulls because my oil filter came unscrew...

they come in different back sides, i requested 4bolt .. if he told you it was vband it was vband, i jsut am not a big fan of vbands so i went with the 4bolt option

maxima coils are GONE O REEEAH i am now running the ls2 coils and all i have to say is they are SICK even at 1ms of dwell they are significantly hotter than the maxima coils, car starts, runs and idles better with these coils... so far, ive only run them up to 3.5ms of dwell and they havent even got...

ensure your tps is in range (.64v with the throttle body closed) and that your maf is working ( see if it revs past 3500 ) these tow things could very easly cause a rich condition
also, coolant temp sensor can dramaticly affect fueling

he is right, you want the d585 coils, they are the hottest ones that you can get for a super cheap price.. but, do be aware that they are NOT coil on plug, they are coil NEAR plug, so you will still have short spark plug wires.. but it is well well worth it

ok, i went out and changed my dwell max to 18 teeth, and raised up the dwell so it is 1.2xxx ms of dwell time and it has made a MASSIVE difference... at the end of the day, these coils still dont have the balls for what i wanna do with my car, but here is the run down of what they were doing sucseff...

i was using my dwell vs batery volts @ 13 volts not at 14 volts... so coil dwell of 10 dwell vs battery volts @13 volts = 25.78 dwell vs rpm 176 across the entire map that is what my 300zx wizzard gave me and has been workin fine, all be, there is pretty substantial spark blow out, but it does work ...
