Did I miss what tires you're using? At least DRs I hope but like the others said, go slicks if you can. It's not the same thing but a friend with a '93 Altima 5spd with 3.89 and VLSD, bolt ons and slicks ran 14.6 at 92 and then Racetep cams and 10.5:1 build, ran a 13.9 at 97....best on street tires ...

Wow, you have a lot of patience and determination but that just makes it that much more rewarding right? I've never seen Nissan paint jobs that worn, is that from being in the deep southwest or something? Congrats on the progress, it's going to be a huge transformation once you get it painted but I'...

Well once it primes and the pump clicks off, pressure drops within 10 seconds and it has new injectors and new stock FPR (twice). It primes instantly so this evening I'm going to try cranking after one second and see. Isn't this one of the criteria for a lemon lol??? I would've thrown an OEM Bosch i...

Lol, yeah after the last few hours last night and this morning googling every walbro check valve post EVER, it seems Walbro's are very hit and miss with maintaining fuel pressure, mostly not holding. It's just annoying having the car cranking for 5 seconds or having to back off and recrank and is mo...

Just thought I'd post my 2 bits, I've changed pumps 3 times over the last year chasing fuel pressure drop problems and still have the original '93 fuel lines attached to the pump that sit in the tank. There is still no evidence of line damage to the original OEM fuel line at all so hope that helps.....

Fuel pressure drop test?
Well I have a weird fuel pressure drop on my '93 KA24DE. Had one Walbro 190 pump, then a used working OEM pump, now back to an O'Reilly Delphi pump which is stamped, Walbro GSS278 on the side. I actually thought the first Walbro and (hopefully) the used OEM pumps had bad check valves (working long h...

Awesome job so far and a very realistic guide to all the little crap that happens with builds, unlike the glossy edited magazine stories lol... I've only had a FSTB and my KA VC powdercoated here in memphis (candy apple red metallic) and was not happy when I found that they didn't protect the plug w...

Yeah the kit I used is supposed to be the standard for rust conversion and it was only $20...an all in one kit that leaves the surface ready to paint. I'll try to take some pics of the POR on the floorpan for any interested. It levels really nicely and is supposed to be freaking tough. The guy at th...

Update: The local auto paint/body supply shop had the POR 15 starter kit that comes w/the cleaner, metal prep and tiny can of por 15. Going to spend all day on this then take the small piece of CCF I have leftover and lay it underneath the rust coated foam underlayment (that's glued to the vinyl car...

Well I soaked the areas in wd 40 this morning (nuts are sitting in a cup full of it) and surprisingly, a good bit of the rust is dissolving away with no surface penetration from what I can tell. But after removing the rest of the console, it's a really tight area tucked under the HVAC ducting and ai...

Ok thanks! I'm going to check the local auto paint supply shop that caters and mixes for body shops and see what they have as well. I know they carry SEM paints so maybe they'll have the rust inhibitor. Preferably I'll find a rust converter product but we'll see....I was thinking some sandpaper or w...

Interior rust control?
Hey guys, I'm not used to vehicle rust living around Memphis where they never use salt, then again, we rarely get snow....I use an '08 Chevy Uplander cargo fan for work and found moisture and rust under the vinyl/foam cargo mat (no carpet inside). It's mainly around the center console/hvac mounting ...

Well, I'm bumping this 7month old thread for anyone that like me, sometimes find a thread with the exact issue they have only to find that no one ever found a solution or reported back... I actually fixed the code 45 (generic injector leak code) on my '93 Altima a few months back but never got aroun...

Excellent work and craftsmanship...It's nice to see guys that take pride in their work and turn out such good results. From my 1st car as a teen I've had manuals but after being married and few roads to enjoy, I've gotten used to autos and actually enjoy the kick from punching it, especially at low ...

Man I don't remember Ft Hood being that barren looking lol but it's been 20 years since I was there. Yeah, I did that once and never again....I got a ticket for 80 in a 45 once when I was about 18, out of gas and late for a job interview. I was in my first car, a 5 speed '85 Mazda 626 hatch. Got pulled over after an impromptu race with an old dude in a T'Bird and didn't even notice passing a long b...

So what do the new G37s run and dyno? I was thinking around mid/high 13's depending on tranny and driver and around 275ish whp? What are you putting down right now? I wouldn't think you'd have much trouble with a G37 if you're running 10lbs or more but I don't know what turbo you're running.....cong...
