Re: OEM Nissan Oil Filters Junk?
Those are for the VQ's. We don't use their filters, different supplier. From what I've read in past threads is that the original OEM NIssan KA24/VG30E filters were really great filters. The updated 15208-55Y00 are still good filters, but not as well made as the original. Last time I inspected the in...

Had my car since 2004, 2nd engine, 3rd turbo kit. Still running strong and loving it. Always puts a smile on my face after driving my hum drum direct injected turbo passat.

Both Rockauto and another website that typically carries OEM aftermarket uses DNJ. Might be worth e-mailing them to see where they are manufactured.

What kind of RTV did you use? It isn't a pressurized area, so permatex black rtv should be fine. I used it on my oil pan.

Thats the way I have mine routed, except my VC is routed to the intake also. Some people say put a slash cut on the tube going to the intake to help create a larger vacuum on the crankcase, but I was too lazy to do that.

The best one I've seen for perfromance/$ is the Moroso catch can which uses the condensation effect along with a filter media to separate the oil mist from the air. http://www.proweldperformanceparts.com/sitebuildercontent/sitebuilderpictures/Boss302/MorosoOil1.jpg A lot of catch cans are just a sim...

Re: Throttle Body Shaft Seal
Look into DSMs. Its been a few years, but we replaced the shaft seal on my friend's 2g DSM due to the same shaft seal leaking. Its a long shot, but you figure since Mitsubishi and Nissan share some parts pools its possible one of the aftermarket shaft seals will fit. If not DSMs, just look into shaf...

I agree with this, your motor shouldn't have gone that fast unless something was already wrong before you went turbo. What tune are you running?schmauster920 wrote:You need a tune or you have something out of wack.. a turbo motor wont last 10 seconds under boost if the conditions arent right.

Okay then, that's what I'm talking about!
Whatever the valid reasons for going LSx, whenever I see one underneath an s-chassis, I immediately lose interest. I've been around enough f-bodies that it's all been done before.

He's talking about the flywheel bolts, from what I've read, gonna need to heat up those bolts to get them off. But be careful you only heat the bolts and not the crank (or the rear main)
