Re: First dyno disappointment...

Is it possible you are on the knock maps? Vtec feeling above 4k usually means the knock sensor is pulling timing, it stops pulling timing at 4k i believe.

I like how you post about your small issues. I think this is fairly common to have a lot of small stuff going wrong (i know i did), most people just dont post about it. Maybe they like to make you think everything went together perfectly  I have always learned from this thread as im sure others...

Yes that valve your circled is the one way valve. Move it to the brake booster side of the distribution block and you'll be set

Re: car dies when i move the O2 sensor wire

The wire has certain current going through it telling the ecu the air/fuel mixture. If you ground the sensor wire out on the housing the voltage will drop and the ecu will add fuel so it will run badly.. this also teaches the ecu bad things since it tries to correct the mixture as it goes. Fix it ei...

Ive got an emance chipped ecu that i burn chips for. Mine came with a piece of rubber between the cover and board that holds it firmly in place. Its ghetto but it works. Its about the thickness of an eraser.. might be good to do to yours so it shouldnt be an issue for the new owner. I believe the ec...

If its the UEGO it uses a pre calibrated sensor so theres no setup for it. Sounds like it could be a boost leak.. or did you change the intake piping (air filter and maf) around? 12s while in boost is good.. low 10s not so much. Edit : The stock O2 sensor should be tuning the idle / cruise area once...

The maf needs straight pipe before and after it. perferably at least 12-16 inches from the turbo, and 6-10 inches of pipe before the maf to straighten the airflow out for it. Basically it needs to be in a fairly straight piece of pipe, not on the air filter or turbo. The maf has lots of trouble read...

It will run fine but check your oil, gas gets past the piston rings and your oil gets contaminated quickly. Bearings love to spin when you add a few quarts of gas to your oil. It washes the oil from the crosshatch in the cylinders as well so its not going to help the engine last a long time either. ...

Are you running a restrictor on a journal bearing turbo? Journal bearings love all the oil they can get within reason. You should only restrict it if you have a lot of oil psi and or a huge oil line therefore over oiling it and creating smoke just an FYI Check the play on your turbo when youre in th...

is your distributor 180 out? set it on the TDC compression stroke and make sure the rotor is facing #1.

If its 180 out your timing light will show the right timing and everything but it wont be firing on the correct stroke.
