Doesn't 3M make a weatherstripping sealant that you could put inbetween to force a bond. I've used it on my sunroof and it worked. Im not sure what part your talking about though. But im just throwing that idea out there.

BTW: 3M is the same stuff the dealer uses

it sucks because my driver side door lock doesn't work with my key. Everytime i go into the car i have to open up the passenger door flip the handle, then walk all the way around.
