Hmmm...good idea. I go through quite a bit of slave cylinders. Wonder if this will fix my issue.

I can't do that...too cocky then when another 4 cyl runs me, I will have to burn the sticker! Quick update: Fixed my misfire on top. Turns out the ignition wires were old and arcing off. I could not see it at night while revving. Upgraded to D585 coils as well. Only issue now is the diff is knocking...

Re: Coil on Plug Conversion Questions
LS2 D585 are the hottest coils but not a true COP setup. I personally have LS2 and rather function over form. The external box is an igniter like on stock ignition. It tells when to spark the coil. I would go with a smart coil vs dumb one just to eliminate the need for an external driver/wiring.

Good data...keep it up...Did you increase timing after MBT as well? As rpm's increase, volumetric efficiency decreases and you can increase timing to keep cylinder pressures up for better power.

Painting is a hard job but high yielding results. Well painting is easy, it is the prep work that makes it horrendous. Looks good man. Is that sealer or primer in gray?

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,
HELL YEA!. You just took me back 5 years when I was running a chipped ecu. I hated every aspect of it. Without experience, tuning Nissan ecu is somewhat difficult until you understand the parameters. After I had a good base, I put the Emanage on so I could tune real time and using x-y coordinates I ...

So the other day, I was coming home from work and this S4 was cruising with his bumper off and good size tires. I don't start races so as I was changing lanes, he starts pulling behind me. I drop in 3rd and go. He kept up and I only started to pull away slightly. I am like man, someone has some powe...

Yup. I didn't get my car till after college. In college best I could do was 75 shot dry. Boost would have never happened.

Re: Tuning to avoid head lift
MS3 can use the stock knock sensor. If you have a log, we can see when you start building boost to make sure the timing is retarded when this happens.

Well a few things to share. Drove the car to work on Monday after a nice wash. Was chillen at the light and I notice this Tacoma in front of me with a sticker of a local shop that tunes on a dyno. He noticed me in his rear view and got on it a lil as we were driving on a one lane road. As we get to ...

Re: Tuning to avoid head lift
Were you using stock head studs? That would explain lift at such low power. Rosado ran saturn studs to 621whp then swapped in ARP2000 and made 700+ with no lift. 220kPa is 17.1 psi. With 93 and .75:1 reduction, that puts you at 12* which is close to what you have. A little more retarded which is fin...

Re: Check my tune / logs
Yes, you are absolutely correct. Been awhile since I applied this knowledge. The only thing wrong with the log is the TPS. Max is 89%. Try re-calibrating the sensor. AFR's, coolant, MAT's, and timing look good.

Re: Tuning to avoid head lift
The overheating issues could be that your timing is too far retarded. @15psi with a .5:1 reduction, you should be around 17*. You have roughly around 10*. Bump up the timing across the map to meet a .5:1 reduction. Remember to start pulling timing from just before boost starts.

Re: how much is this cylinder-head/short block set-up worth?
You figure about $1500 in the block and $500 in head but that is not including labor. So probably like 2500 to 3000. HRT sells crate motors for that price.

Re: Check my tune / logs
What psi did you run? @14psi, you have 14.2* which is safe. With the built bottom end, you can run do a .5:1 reduction. So 14psi * .5 = 7* deducted from 25* WOT to 18*. If cornfed, then that is a different story. .75:1 reduction is fine for E85.

Re: Spark Plug Heat Range and AFR
Only correlation I can think of is that the 6 run hotter than a 7 naturally because of heat range/alloy mixture. The 6's alloy mixture runs hotter which equates to a hotter burn. We switch to colder plugs because stock heat range 5 will get so hot, they will glow and cause pre-ignition/detonation he...
