I know this thread keeps coming back from the dead, but since the problem is re-appearing I've been looking for new solutions. Quick refresher: Car wants to die when coming to a stop. Here is what I've noticed: The car wants to die when I come out of gear. It will not die if I free rev in neutral. W...

I've been wanting to do the cooling panel for awhile now, just haven't gotten around to do it really. I suppose I should try it out now, I will probably attempt to make my own to save $60 (I can't seem to find any cheaper for S14s). I think I may also remove my thermo again and give it a test, i fee...

The ECU limits speed two ways. 1) If the car came stock 5spd, then you have a limiter in 5th gear @ 5,500 rpms. You can avoid this by getting a stock automatic ECU 2) The second limiter is a speed governor and iirc it's set around 120mph, not sure what it is in km/h. There are a couple ways around t...

slight overheating, radiator? or fmic setup?
So my car just runs warmer than normal, autometer says around 210*F on a hot day, NIStune says a little less. (dummy gauge never even budges) anyways, I noticed today while driving in somewhat cooler weather (70*F compared to 80+) it only gets up to around 190*F. On top of that, if I turn on the hea...

100amp if you are talking about a fuse on the main positive line from battery terminal. But don't get a 100 amp inline fuse, if that pops then you are screwed until you get another. Get a 100 amp breaker, they sell them at AZ and advanced for like $30, and then you dont have to worry about carrying ...

Mine only dies when I'm decelerating to a stop. It's independent of actually using the brake booster (So basically if I use ebrake or coast to a stop, it still wants to die) the moment my speedo hits 0 it climbs back up to idle smooth. Mine will no longer do this as long as I keep the A/C on, but if...

The whole pretending this is better has been going on for quite some time. The process to make the batteries for the Prius puts out more pollution than just driving a land rover, yet we still have people all high and mighty about their hybrid... we should just be thankful that e85 is pretend eco-fri...

DIY High Octane Fuel?
http://forums.maxima.org/supercharged-turbocharged/243992-homade-race-gas.html Came across this doing research with a friend. I'm no fuel expert, but wondering why this type of thing hasn't been discussed much? It almost seems to good to be true type of thing, I feel like there is going to be a reas...

its freakin thermo plastic. I never really understood how this could drop temps that much. I mean, the total distance from the intake to the head with the gasket is still really close. I guess if they are free/nearly free its worth a shot. Theoretically it provides a thermal barrier between the hea...

^ That's the first thing that comes to mind. It's hard to tell in video, but it sounds like the car is idling OK... if you were seeing 18-19afrs ur car would be close to dying, your idle would be all over the place and a leak is generally causes rapid extreme fluctuations like that. Might be worth c...

SAFC's suck balls and why get an N60? Just get an N62 to support up to 500hp or get a p60 with a tune. I don't know why people use the vq30 MAF's. Agreed SAFC's suck but sometimes people are just dead set on using them... Going N62 would be more than ideal, but N60's cost next to nothing and gives ...

I've had a few different problems that resulted in similar afr situations. The first was bad MAFS wiring coupled with fpr giving out. AFR's were like 16-17, then if I increased fuel it would drop to like 12 or 13. Ended up being a wire shorting out, but not sure where (I redid all the wiring from th...

I'm likely to try this well very soon but out of curiosity, this seems like such a simple idea, why would this not be included from the factory? Are there really any drawbacks/danger to adding a couple degrees of timing in the lower dying/choking area? From what I understand (which may very likely b...

Nope, stock motor. Never been to a dyno either. The guy I bought my turbo stuff from was around 215hp 220ft-lbs @7psi which is what I have it at, but I'm running NIStune and my motor is in a pretty good condition so who knows? The closest dyno to me wants $225 an hour to throw it on the dyno. So on ...

Freise 240sx stock to now
Here's how she sat when I bought her. Got pretty lucky, the car was owned by the same family all her life. The family had no clue what was so special about a 5spd bone stock 240sx and I was the first of 5 people coming that day, had cash on me and drove it home with an oil leak from the oil pan. htt...

So what is the current problem with cylinder 3? If you are having misfiring/flooding issues, then the most common problem is the injector O-Rings if you did not replace those before installing the new injectors. A simple way to test this, as well as any leaks from your injectors, is to remove fuel r...

I've always heard that an auto ecu raises the rev limit to 7000 on the internet but have never seen any real evidence to support it, my buddy has a 5spd swapped s14 with auto ecu and still has ~6500 rpm redline. I also just checked out the stock auto ecu bin on Nistune and it has 6450 as the stock r...

From what i found reading around on the internet, the crank angle sensor is on the transmission and just used for throwing codes and diagnosing issues, and crank position sensor is in the distributor and controls timing of the injectors. Is this correct? Crank ...
