Re: 300 hp ka24det ISR
I had a full isis ( now isr ) setup.....that turbo will make alot of power and torque down low but fall flat after 5500 rpm. I made 340wtq but only 280whp at something like 18 to 20psi with 102 octane..I regret not testing the setup with 264 cams. Im certain bigger cams will crack 300whp......anyway...

Re: What Boost gauge do you use and why?
All their sending units have extremely sturdy weatherproof connections...and if i remember correctly..the gauges can be daisy chained for easy installation. Speedo was nice with its gps connection not having to calibrate anything or worry about my j30 diff and wheels throwing off the speedo.

Re: Stock Transmission dust plate thickness?
Believe me i know how stupid this may sound but i vaguely remember the slave cylinder was a very tight fit because the contact between the clutch fork and slave cylinder rod while fully compressed was a challange to align the bolt holes. In that case 2mm would have helped plenty.

Stock Transmission dust plate thickness?
It dawned on me the otherday that perhaps 8 years ago when i did my auto manual swap and did not have the dust plate that goes between the tranny and block ..which also acts as a spacer....that i may have inadvertently shortened the distance between the throw out bearing and pressure plate fingers.....

Re: detonation marks on pistons
I've experienced similar, but a little worse - it was knock induced. (Cylinder temperature/pressure far too high) Too much timing. Your a/f ratio may have looked okay which may have masked the issue. Is it possible your base timing (distributor) was set too far advanced? Enthalpy tunes are usually ...

This man speaks the truth. But giving up the city life is very difficult as I'm coming to learn, especially when all your family is there. Instead of leaving my job to jump to Texas, I'm gonna try buy a house a little further out of NYC and commute to my job. Hopefully then I can keep my ny city pay...
