used a long handled open end wrench for mine and beat it with a hammer (wasnt to concerned about the manifold as i had spares), seem to work pretty well. mine was rusted as well, though i did shoot mine with pbblaster. cut off the threaded portion and welded a washer on it since I didnt have any spa...

+1, would recommend using the bleeder hole rather than the radiator. can force feed the cooling system through the overflow tube and push the bubbles out if you leave the hose on low enough pressure (of course dont do it while the car is running, just after it has warmed the coolant up). also not to...

Its just my dialy driver, but my battery is right in the way of my piping route, so I just wanted to move my battery. I figured a smaller battery might still get in the way of my piping.... theres a guy in my club who is running a slim battery, he rotated it so he could modify his battery tray. he ...

IluvS13s is correct on how you can expand your system, a couple things I can tell you from experience and tests though if you decide to use a deep cycle battery for your main, note that deep cycle battery's have memory effects when recharging. they are meant to be fully discharged then charged back ...

the alternator will charge both. its actually better to do it this way, gives you more of a buffer to keep your alternator from draining as fast. I used to be into performance car stereos.. the only thing you need to do is series the battery, hot to hot and negative to negative and ground 1 negativ...

the real question you should be asking is, when your head does fail on you will you regret not taking the time to fix it when you had the chance? its much easier to just replace the valves and springs and reshim while you have the head off, and its not that expensive to use oem parts to just refresh...

you know why not many people are buying xcessive intake manifolds? there is not a single back to back comparission of that manifold to the stock one. +10000 in comparison to working on the stock manifold while the engine is in the car, the accessibility alone is enough to warrant the need for a dif...

I would get a mechanics s-scope and check on the outside of the block where each valve is on the top and bottom (shim/valve stem) and see if you can narrow it down some more. 95% of the time its the timing chain unless your shims are out of spec. you can use feeler guages for checking the shim sizes...

the oil held its consistancy, smelt/looked/felt the same in comparison to the remaining half a quart I have. I did not bother to tune the engine because I have no supporting mods yet, using the same fuel system. the exhaust did not have any excessive smells of fuel and the engine was not backfiring....

Spun Bearing/Heat Issue on my dohc
Good morning all, seems im rather quite on this forum but im hoping some of you can help me decide what to do next Some background on the engine: I have recently built a S14 block with the ams advanced rebuild kit including the upgrades to calico bearings, ams pro rods and the 20 over arias pistons....
