Re: What Boost gauge do you use and why?
i used the ultralite 2 autometer 30psi gauge, worked well for me. sounds like you are trying to get away from autometer though.
would love me a defi boost gauge when i can use a boost gauge again. They are just beautiful gauges

so i got all my bends in, took them to the local exhaust shop. They took my 2.5" mufflers off and just did 2.5" pipe to a y pipe to my apexi catback. They said i had something loose in my header under my heat wrap that i should figure out what it is when i get home. fired it up, was loud, ...

Why not build a turbo manifold while your at it. have a spare set of the truck headers sitting in my garage for if/when that happens. I do have some foresight =) really dont want to pull my motor to put on a new clutch right now though on another note, seems im not getting my 45* mandrel bends in b...

pulled the trigger and ordered some stuff to fab a new exhaust yesterday. old one kept hitting stuff and popping off my vband clamp on the drivers side. old setup was dual 2.5" mufflers merging to a y pipe going out to the back half of my apexi 3" exhaust switching to dual 2.5" straig...

Good to hear man. Summer is almost done. Then you can really dial in on the cold start. Have you played with the idle advance option in TS? This helped stabilize my idle and warm up. have not played with the idle advance, did mess around with the timing tables a little bit in the idle range. let me...

Now that I'm turbo with only a t25 will I see any gains or faster boost building if I upgrade to 3" exhaust?
Will it still sound like rice?
2.5" is sufficient for a t25
it will still sound like rice, slightly quieter

That's the fix for the injectors. You can use washers to fill the space that the spacer doesnt cover or mcmaster carr also sells spacer material by the foot if you need to make a custom one.

Re: high boost pump gas question
Your motor won't built too much longer if you keep running that much boost on pump 93 octane. Its been tried and every time it ends up with a motor rebuild. +1 Speaking from experience was able to get to about 22lbs on my setup, ran 25 at my last track day on that build and messed up the pistons. R...

me? I would get an s15 shell, put an ls3 crate engine in it with a cam/intake upgrade on it paint it drive the car i have nothing against the turbos, but N/A is so much nicer for maintenance, and cooling. granted you can just use an lm7 like supa suggested and toss a turbo on it. heck, my drivetrain...

alot of the people doing dyno sessions were using whites automotive here, not sure if they are still open. You can rent dyno time from trickpro, although its a bit pricey. Spend the money and buy the VEAnalyze functionality of tuner studio, you can tune your own car very easily (and on the road whil...

not sure who answered you on reddit saying an hx35 wont spool. they spool just fine and will easily put down 400hp. plenty of us have run the hx35 with great success and it fits your goal of not having it spool on highway driving (still was able to get 20psi on that turbo before 4k rpm), its not rea...

VSS input, has anyone here tried it yet?
So, the VSS input code seems to have greatly improved since the last time I looked at it. Has anyone got their VSS working directly into MS3 yet?
I am curious if it can support the gm t56/4lg now (few more pulses than the ka/vg vss). I wonder, Matt, did you try it on your chevy motor swap you did?

a tune that controls both spark and fuel would be pretty important at that level =) add a coolant temp gauge to your list, you can tap the sender right next to the bleeder screw on the manifold and it will save you a block or two some TC Rods will help you immensely if you still have the stock ones ...

Re: MegaSquirt/Tuner Studio Tuning Theories/Concepts
If you are tuning your engine N/A before tossing the turbo on, your AFR's change a bit from a boosted setup. i.e. the sweet spot for N/A is roughly 13 AFR for peak power, going up to ~15/15.5 for peak fuel efficiency The graphs on msextra have a great description of the AFR ranges and how to work on...

Do you use a hydraulic vehicle lift to help you remove the engine? sounds kind of fast. I use a harbor freight 2 ton cherry picker. just watch your coolant temp gauge on the trip, shouldnt be any different if the tune is ok. just stay out of high boost on the trip to avoid problems (like breaking gasket seals and such)
