I'd go with air to air on that setup. Lighter, simpler, and it's not like a 240SX has the sorts of airflow issues or oddball packaging that would make a FMIC difficult to install.

We're running one on an MR2, where an air to air isn't all that practical. Compared to a FMIC, it tends to heat soak a bit - though it's better than sticking an air to air cooler in the engine compartment on a mid engined car. For a drag car, this isn't so much of a liability, and you can add an ice...

There's probably a local machine shop that could make a billet dip stick handle on a lathe if you gave them a decent drawing to work from.

If you're using an AEM EMS, I'd skip the Z32 MAF, or any other sort of MAF. The AEM can use a MAP sensor instead.

While that should be OK on gasoline, E85 needs more fuel volume. We sell pumps from SX Performance with protective anodized coatings to avoid any corrosion from ethanol (or even methanol) if you'd be interested in a pump designed specifically for this. What boost pressure will you be running? With f...

ABS needs VLSD to calculate diffrences in rotation via sensor(s) that IS the reason ABS s14's have VLSD. if it was "locked" there would be nothing to calculate and nissan wasted millions of dollars throwing in a vlsd with out needing one. im asuming abs/vlsd is standard on j30's You can u...

Big injectors can clog too. Last time I bought a set of 440 cc Supra injectors used, I had them cleaned and flow tested before installing them. Turns out one had been completely plugged shut.

We have a Spec Stage 3 on the shop Miata. It doesn't slip even with two and a half times the stock power output. On the down side, it isn't the most streetable clutch, especially before you break it in. And it wears out a bit quickly - though chances are it would last longer with our combination of ...

One thing about AEMs is that 10.0 is the lowest they'll read, from what I've heard, so you may have actually leaned it out from the 8's to the 11's. A backfir...

Ok, looks like on a '91 it gets an RPM signal from the ECU, but no other signals. I haven't tested this but it's likely a tach driver output signal from the Megasquirt would suffice for this.

MAP sensors give a 0 to 5 volt signal like a MAF, so if Calum or Nistune can allow enough rescaling of the tables, such a thing might work. We build standalone ECUs that work on 240SXs and use a MAP sensor as standard equipment. They are a bit more work to set up than an ECU hack, but also allow for more flexibility. We have an article on how to set up our system on a 240SX here: http://www.diyautotune.com/tech_articles/how_to_megasquir...
