Re: SuperDorifto's Overbuilt KA24DE - T Project

The last month and a half has been a blur. A good friend challenged me to have this thing on the road by 9/28 for a charity car show his girl-firend is organizing. I dont think I'm going to make it, but I'm so close that I can literally taste it. I'll let the pics do the talking. White bunny d21 clu...

Re: SuperDorifto's Overbuilt KA24DE - T Project

Man - auto correct made a mess of that.... ^ No not the o-rings on the AN fittings. In the central bore, there are 2 o-rings that seal against the oil stalk shaft to keep oil flowing through the filter. The powder-coater that I used did not remove the o-rings before he baked the part...trashing them...

its been in Connecticut all its life. Bought new in Seymour - all the original dealer paperwork sans the window sticker came with the car - My guess is it was the last car that a couple bought together and it just spent more and more time in the garage as they got older until it finally sat. Its bee...

Re: SuperDorifto's Overbuilt KA24DE - T Project

I made that adapter with a friend. The skull works adaptor was ok, but it takes a weird size o-ring, and after trying 6 different sizes and the oem ring I have up. It keep cutting o-rings....finally just gave up on it. I even reached out to the chi that made them on the nrr forums, nothing....

man that thing is going to rock when its done.

I've got a DD 88s10 that I let my bro drive, and I cannot imagine that thing with power. Its got the stock 2.5L iron duke, and even at that lowly power level it feels like a death trap.

what power level are you shooting for?

Not so sure on the truck blocks, but on the 240 KAs the starter mounts from the engine side. meaning making the cut with the starter mounted flush to the bellhousing like you show it means there will be a sizable gap once the tranny is actually mounted. Last time I looked it was 1/8 to 1/4 thick, bu...

Thats your cleanest option, if you dont want a CEL. It will start without the crank signal, but the CEL will never go away. I ran a 95 for years with it unplugged. The only real difference between s13/14 motors besides the emissions crap and the timing/valve covers is the distributor/coil, and the c...

If you use the proper resistor it will never through a code. You don't have an obd2port anyway. An obd2 ecu is also going to be looking for a crank sensor....that will throw a cel unless you get an s13 ecu

I read both of the PDFs they supplied, and garnered taht the majority of the settings for the EMS are intended to be set and forget....unless you want to use them later. Battery offset is a tricky bi*ch, and while I love that EMS has a handy drop down table, once you start dealing with modified inje...

Some pics of the final mods to the manifold. I relocated the coolant return to the backside of the thermostat, there was an area on the backside of the waterneck that lets you tuck the connection behind everything. that is the temperature sensor for the egr valve. Its easy to eliminate on OBD1 and 95 cars. A single 10K OMH resistor will fool the system into thinking the temp is excessively low...hence the egr valve with never cycle, and you never throw a code. On OBD2 cars you need that sensor to allow the mon...
