Re: SuperDorifto's Overbuilt KA24DE - T Project

Sad news for anyone with an AEM EMS V2.... AEM is no longer stocking extra boards for the V2. We all new this day was coming, considering the V2 is almost 12 years old. I just got off the phone with their tech support and my only options are to upgrade to Infinity... They will still repair them...an...

Re: Coil on Plug Conversion Questions

The infinity just like the EMS 2/1 should be able to directly power any smart coil. That's a coil with a 5 volt trigger and internal exciters. Maxima and VW Audi are the ones I've seen work with the KA Valve cover with minimal modifications. You should get actual dwell/voltage offset curves for what...

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,

Do not even entertain the notion of giving up... You will regret it, this build has been far too well thought out, and to Greaser's point at higher power levels this stuff happens. Little things. meticulous details that don't seem import will help you find the weak points. A new crank and some fresh...

I only took the rear main out of the package to check it...need to see if the front has it. My phone/camera **** the bed, but I'll get some pics loaded eventually. Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,

So, on your leak - I had an argument with my machinist the other day. I told him that I was going to reverse the main seals and rig up the constant vacuum system that greaser has. He thought it was a bad idea because some main seals actually have a built in spiral wiper seal built into the face that...

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,

You can also drill a couple smaller holes next to the jiggle valve to help - either method works.

Side question, for either Adam or Greaser....

what diameter hose did you run for your pcv/vacuum tank? I've already got fittings for 3/8 OD (.275" ID) push to connects, but that seems too small.

So I went back and read your post and Greaser's build - I'm thinking I'm going to blatantly steal the same PVC set up. I stupidly sent my Skullworks block out to get powder-coated and the guy who did it did not remove the o-rings prior to coating. Re: Just wired LS2 coils, no power to ecu/fuel pump prime

Not sure that it matters, but Im pretty sure the ecu is not capable of powering the coils. For mine, we had the 4 triggers pinned back to the specific pin on the ecu. A dedicated fused hot wire run in parallel for power that did not go through the ecu. For the power ground we again ran all the groun...

Yes, time serts are necessary in the block. You can use 11mm without any mods to the head though. 12mm requires drilling out the holes in the head as well as drilling/tapping the block. There's an oil galley that has to be modified as well. If your machinist is good you can get away without having ...

Re: Adam's formerly supercharged... now soon-to-be-turbo'd,

Look like you may be able to just lap them? I may have been able to get away with that, but the valves had a lot of wobble within the guides and the stems were necked pretty good, so I didn't feel real comfortable just putting it back together as-is. I'll try to remember to take a pic of the stock ...

Re: SuperDorifto's Overbuilt KA24DE - T Project

I never ended up using them. I still have like 5 of them if you want to try and run them. they connect to 3/8 push to connect pnuematic tubing and are about 2 inches long. Right now the valve cover vent goes to my gatorade bottle (read chooch ass) catch can, and the block pcv location does the same....
