yeah, the oil pan will need a bung. nistune, nistune, nistune. if you haven't seen this video, this will sell you: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WjQJxWSEgHE good luck on the build. if you're going with nistune, i know a lot of people use the aem uego wideband and like it - it's about $100 cheaper t...

one thing i've considered while doing this build, i see a lot of people run t25/t28 setups under a pretty good budget. i already have a FMIC, a boost gauge, a blow off valve, and I have a friend who's willing to sell me a t28 and an exhaust mani for cheap. if i wanted to run boost just to have a lit...

it was just the two on the front cover side. the rest were fine and weren't too tight. there should be no need for oversized bearings (physically larger opening), if those even exist, considering you can only take metal OFF of the crank journals (requiring physically smaller openings).

Whats a few more weeks? Plus you dont have a car to put it in. Don't rush,do it right. true, true. i reckon you're right. but anyways, what can anyone tell me about the crank not turning freely when the 2 front most bearings (2 bolts a piece) are tightened down past 35nm? (fsm says 46-58 or somethi...

If you're going this far to make everything right, why not just throw in some eagle rods? They are pretty cheap and you would have extra peace of mind. Then it would handle pretty much anything you would throw at it,without having to crack it open again in the future. that's where I'm stuck. I know ...

as far as getting that turbo rebuilt, i doubt it could be done for $280 with labor, balancing, and a new compressor wheel. from gpopshop.com (where i buy all my rebuild kits), their rebuild kit (consists of gaskets/bearings/etc) is $90 for a t3/t4 and about $95 for the compressor wheel. that chip on...

thanks for the responses so far. to make it obvious since it's kind of buried in my lengthy post: One thing that concerns me though, according to the FSM, the crank bolts must be torqued to 46-58nm. I plastigaged and torqued to 52nm just to be in the middle. I undid the bolts and took everything bac...

My project...first post!

Hey all, first post here. I figured I'd share you with my project so far... The engine block was at the machine shop for 2 weeks and I got it back 2 weeks ago. The goals: KA24DE for now. The block is bored .020" over and cleaned. The head receives new valve seals, valves ground and resurfacing....
