I suppose after sleeping on it though, I realize that if the distributor refuses to go in at the correct orientation while the crank is at tdc....it must mean that the idler gear is off a tooth. I'm gonna pop the valve cover and upper timing cover and if it's off a tooth I'm gonna try the old trick ...

So this problem has plagued me for too long, I completely dismantled the front cover ,oil pan etc to tackle some leaks and re time the engine ...even used a degree wheel to check valve opening times. slapped her together and no matter what I do she has to be either very advanced or retarded to time ...

I ended up using an emusa cast manifold but had to Port the **** outta it on all runners and the wastegate outlet. Just wanted to give an update, I was going to use this full setup with my 4 bolt holset hx35, my plan was to ust remove the 5 bolt flange from the downpipe and weld on a 4 bolt... but upon removing the flange from the downpipe I realized the piping looked kinda narrow... Measured it and it was barel...

Nuke made a good and extremely important point about ring gaps that I forgot ....that is quite important to give a bit more clearance for boost.

I had a similar issue with the coils seeming kinda weak and not much of an improvement over the stock system. Don't know yet, still haven't gotten to finish my build and tune on current cast manifold....I want solid numbers and logs before I switch so I can share real world numbers.....this was just too cheap to pass up as a backup.

I bought one just for fun...figure it may flow better than my cast mani.

IMG_20190611_232724.jpg Still here, just extremely slow progress guys.....for the past few years I've been working in California and working on the 240 whenever I take time off at my house in florida....I actually got to register, insure and drive her again last month before leaving for work....it'...

I've had super tech pistons, valve springs, retainers,seals...all over 8 years...never an issue....still runs like new.

So 250hp per cylinder is no easy,reliable or cheap task.

And honestly I don't think a KA is the best choice...add a few more cylinders to divide the stress and youre goal becomes much more feasable.

Mind you I'm also a big ka fan.

Nice respectable curve..cams doing a nice job.

That's a good fun turbo setup, with a proper tune you'll make close to 350wtq and around 260-300whp with stock cams and 100 octane.

Still here, working...not giving the 240 much love...its sitting in the garage with the new holset hx35 setup. Just no time to finish it.

My wrx got totaled by a deer about a month back on my commute home
