Re: Rebuilt Title car
I know this is a late response but just wanted to add. I've bought salvage title cars at auction, fixed them ,.got the state to inspect them So that they can have a rebuilt title and then sell them or use them. I can tell you, in the state of Florida at least...the inspection is a joke. If you're go...

Re: Age old distributor off a tooth issue
Sounds like a solid plan, I can't run e85 because I often leave the car sitting for months when I go to work, so I'm limited to 93 and I often use boostane when I tune to the limit which makes a massive difference. My injector seal started leaking now at 15psi... Gotta address that , I also am runni...

Re: Age old distributor off a tooth issue
Ive been watching your dyno thread....the setup youre about to do is exactly what I wanted ...that Borg Warner looks badass....but I bought this holset brand new years ago and I figure it's time I use it.... Can't say I've seen many people running an hx35 with .63 backend ...if it can get me 380whp ...

Re: Age old distributor off a tooth issue
Well I confirmed that my timing was mechanically sound....and ended up adjusting the trigger offset angle until I could get the distributor bolt centered and commanding 20degrees.....in the past I never had to do this ..but the results speak for themselves.....she's finally feeling like fast car ..a...

Re: Age old distributor off a tooth issue
Rechecked my timing....everything is spot on exactly where it's supposed to be..counted the links, counted the pins...you name it....at tdc everything is perfect... I know the photos show the dots not lined up on the colored links but that's due to the rotation and amount of times I've started the m...

Re: Best T3 manifold for the money?
Your a lucky guy, I've put that full race manifold in my cart many times and never clicked check out 🤣 honestly I really would like a gtx2867 and the tomei manifold....350 to 380responsive whp is plenty for me. But for now I'm working with the obx t3 , custom downpipe and a holset hx35 with a .63 ba...

Re: Age old distributor off a tooth issue
I suppose after sleeping on it though, I realize that if the distributor refuses to go in at the correct orientation while the crank is at tdc....it must mean that the idler gear is off a tooth. I'm gonna pop the valve cover and upper timing cover and if it's off a tooth I'm gonna try the old trick ...

Age old distributor off a tooth issue
So this problem has plagued me for too long, I completely dismantled the front cover ,oil pan etc to tackle some leaks and re time the engine ...even used a degree wheel to check valve opening times. slapped her together and no matter what I do she has to be either very advanced or retarded to time ...

Re: Best T3 manifold for the money?
I ended up using an emusa cast manifold but had to Port the **** outta it on all runners and the wastegate outlet. At the end of the day I believe it was choking my exhaust at around 320whp....I just removed it and I'm selling it, along with the custom downpipe and knock off tial wastegate setup. Fo...

Re: Thought I'd share $198 obx t3 manifold
Just wanted to give an update, I was going to use this full setup with my 4 bolt holset hx35, my plan was to ust remove the 5 bolt flange from the downpipe and weld on a 4 bolt... but upon removing the flange from the downpipe I realized the piping looked kinda narrow... Measured it and it was barel...

Funny I never thought about the firmware....I have to give that a shot! Appreciate your offer to share the tune but I got a bunch of stuff to try first!
I personally feel that it is a mechanical timing issue but I have to verify its not drifting at high RPMs....wish I was back in fl to work on it

Re: How to run LS1 Coils
I had a similar issue with the coils seeming kinda weak and not much of an improvement over the stock system. Then I decided to wire the power source for the coils directly to the battery in conjunction with a fused relay system. I ended up being able to run 18 psi on a .40 gap with a t28. These car...

Timing chain symptoms?
Been a long time....I know. Some of you might remember my t2 setup in the dyno section making 280hp 340tq. Alot of folks said I should have been able to crack 300....never happened. Torque just fell of a cliff after 5000rpm like most stock 240s do. I got to briefly play with my new hx35 and tomei 27...

Re: KA24DET Build Preparation
So I'm gonna tell you what I would do with what I've learned the last 12+ years with my ka24. Some folks won't agree. 1. If your engine is healthy, just rebuild it with fresh gaskets, rings, bearings and a felpro head gasket with ARP headstuds. Lots of folks end up spending thousands on forged inter...

Don't know yet, still haven't gotten to finish my build and tune on current cast manifold....I want solid numbers and logs before I switch so I can share real world numbers.....this was just too cheap to pass up as a backup.

Re: 1,000hp ka24det
So 250hp per cylinder is no easy, reliable or cheap task.
And honestly I don't think a KA is the best choice...add a few more cylinders to divide the stress and youre goal becomes much more feasable.
Mind you I'm also a big ka fan.

Re: My 95' Zenki KA-T Setup! 2018!
That's a good fun turbo setup, with a proper tune you'll make close to 350wtq and around 260-300whp with stock cams and 100 octane.
Sup guys
Still here, working...not giving the 240 much love...its sitting in the garage with the new holset hx35 setup. Just no time to finish it.
