Door panels look aluminum and are a more practical choice because of weight and ease of fabrication.
That is not a downpipe, it is the wastegate exhaust bypass.

Cars running awesome! Just turned 1k miles on it. Yesterday heard a new sound coming from the motor lol. Turns out all but one bolt had backed out of the t3 flange I used through bolts not studs I might got to studs though, also it's turning cold at night up here and this e85 is a bich to start gonn...

Re: I need thoughts on running stock 232/232 cams vs upgrade
Ive been debating the same thing, I just dread having to adjust the shims and or valve to get the valve to shim clearance correct. You would either have to shave down shims, get new ones, swap them around if youre lucky, and/or knock valve stems down. Most options are a pain in the ass. I should hav...

Re: Torquefreaks ka-t build
Well, If a car is perfectly tuned, which VERY few are, then I guess you could get away with a weak headgasket. But I think about it this way, in order to run a turbo you have to have supporting mods, I consider it a supporting mod. How much of a pain in the ass is it to change out head gaskets evert...

man I feel your pain, def go with an MLS gasket. I agree with you, I dont care what anybody says, I made blah blah hp, I call bull$%iT. Many HP claims are grossly over estimated anyway. Just think about it, soft graphite.....or steel, hmmm, which will be stronger. Anyway, before I get a big argument...

Re: The Zenki KA-T build thread!
On paper, yes, that sounds about right. E85 needs ~30% more volume for stoich, so ~30% smaller injectors with 93 would yield similar power assuming maxing out volume of the systems, until you add timing and compression, then e85 nets you 20%+ power. But by the BSFC calculators 500 hp at the crank ca...

I am riding with it til it gets worse or stops the car lol. Motor is running awesome and I would hate to have to put back up on the stands so soon after getting it tuned. Speaking of riding with it. I took the car out to US129 "Tail of the Dragon" which is a semi famous road. I has a milli...

Re: The Zenki KA-T build thread!
yeah it runnin corn in this vid and about 18-19 psi, I dont know if this turbo can do much more. Also, my injectors are spiking to 90%DC at 230 kPa, which means I think Im at the max boost for these injectors. I dont know if that means that this turbo is efficient or my engine is efficient. But just...

Im running 15.5* at 18-19psi full load, probably leaving some timing on the table, Im currently looking into and researching this topic my self, looking for I good ideal timing just under maximum. I am running "magical corn juice" btw..

Im afraid that if you put this back together like this that is will not run for very long without giving you some trouble of some sort. Those pistons look worse than the stock 240000 mile pistons I took out of my motor. just saying. I agree with the assessment that the PTW clearance was not even clo...

Wow, that's a pretty sweet price! How old ARE you?? Joking of coarse, but seriously, I think the average age of guys on this site is probably over 30, am I right? Re: The Zenki KA-T build thread!
Well, I guess there is a VG tranny in the 240s future. I was tuning last night cause I just filled it up with e85, added some timing and some boost, I was hitting 225kpa which is about 18psi. It was awesome!! Car is a monster and got to 120 in no time. Well all of this fun has led to a whine coming ...

Oil getting dirty relatively fast.
I know this sounds like a silly newb question but, I have never changed oil in a car so much as I have in my high performance 240, ha. In doing so, I have found that the oil gets dirty really fast. For instance, after a short break in period of 100+- miles, the oil was not clear at all, it looked li...

Re: Crank Clearance, need advice!
Well, so far so good with the ACL bearings and rotella 15-40 oil. When the motor was assembled this time around, the rotating assembly was much freer and was easily turned by hand, where as before it took the leverage of a 1/2" drive torque wrench. I will keep this thread updated as I put more ...

Re: First Time Engine Work
these KA iron blocks can take a beating and some moderate overheating and be just fine as far as still being usable, machining being necessary of course. The aluminum heads however are not so resilient. Aluminum heats up and cools a little faster than ferrous metals. Which means better chance of war...

Re: monster ka na 320 hp highest na build?
Race fuel does not make power, it allows the tuner to advance timing to generate more power. If you have an ecu tuned for 93 octane and put 110, it will only prevent detonation like 500hp stated above. correct! this is the basis for the major improvement from running e85. higher octane means more t...

I agree! leaving it centered though while trying to get it to fire up is best, so when you do get it to fire, you have room to fine tune it to get it synced perfectly.

I would not mess with the dizzy after you have installed it, its all about the trigger angle. Technically you could have the dizzy turned 180 degrees and you can run it just fine, you would just have to set the trigger angle accordingly. Do like Supa said start with 345 and jump 3-5 in one direction...

Re: Very Very Very rich idle
Well the ECU controlls all fuel of course, and it does that based on a few inputs, mainly coolant temp. There are a few features that change fuel delivered based on fuel needed, such as after start enrichment, and warmup enrichment. Your ECU and or sensors will be at fault for this problem.....I rec...

Still running awesome, drove it to work today about 35 miles away, it's got about 250 miles on the motor now. Only issue I'm having now is this annoying piston slap. I'm 100 percent sure that is what sound I'm hearing from the motor. Should I be worried about Pistons or cylinders wearring? Fixing to...

I think it has to do with defective fuses. I only use OEM Nissan fuses, I believe the fuse box says to use only Nissan because the risk for fire is much higher with unknown quality fuses
