Guesstimation of RWHP for my setup:

Post by rn240sx »

I was just curious to know what u guys woould guesstimate to be my rwhp on my current setup.

KA24DE-T (obviously)
IAP Equal Length Tubular manifold
Turbonetics T3/TO4B H3 Stage 3 ex wheel with .48 a/r on both sides
3 inch downpipe, 3 inch test pipe, N1 single catback
ASP Crank Pulley, Fidanza Flywheel, ACT Street Clutch
No mechanical fan (dual 12 inch elec fans)
Dual 91 ex cams (248/248)
JWT 555cc inj program with (Un-tunned) S-afc II

Everything else left out is pretty much non helpful in adding hp... (fuel manag, electronics, etc)

So im currently pushing 15 psi at the manifold and im just curious to know what i would be putting down to the ground...

Since this forum is more toward the KA motor, i thought u guys would have a better idea..

Thanks
Robert

600000FWHP!!!!!!

How does Fuel Management and Fuel Delivery not have anything to do with HP numbers?

It is one of the biggest things to do with HP...

Another Key thing you left out is What pistons/CR are you running?

Take the car to a Dyno and Test it... Then tell us what HP you're "Putting To The Ground"

He's on the stock bottom end. At least thats what his sig says. I'll give you 320whp. It really depends on the tune.

H3 compressor wheel is pretty big. A bit too big for a KA.

I'd say your power depends on your tuning, fuel management, ect.
However, the time it takes before you destroy your turbo would be a better guessing game to play.
I give it 2000 miles.

This turbo has been on this motor since March of 2003 and its still going. So please explain to me why u think this turbo will be destroyed within 2000 miles if I have went WELL OVER 10k miles on it...??

If you have a stock bottom end with 15psi the final boosted comp ratio will be around 16:1. :( If you don't have any electronic control device to retard the timing you will have mad detonation with even 93 octane.

You mentioned that you have a T3/T4 with .48 A/R on both sides. That is not possible. You exhaust housing is likely the .48 A/R but your TO4B compressor is not a .48; it is larger (.50 or .60).

Provided that you have everything tuned appropriately and the timming at a safe level, I'd guess 310-350whp.

Lets say this again....

My fuel management is a JWT ecu... We all know that they run it rich and their timming retard is more than enough. They do this for a reason, to keep the motor in the safe zone.
And thats why i have the AFC, to fine tune the mixture ONCE i get onto a dyno..!!
