Sexiest car ever

Post by R34SR »

I feel bad that i didnt know about this car until today when i was browsing jdm engine depot.....came across a 20btt....didnt even know mazda made a 2 litre twin turbo rotary engine , i knew it never came in the rx-7 so i thought id find out what car it did come in and lo and behold it was the Mazda Eunos Cosmo.....300hp, 280-300lbft of torque at 1800rpm....and you thought out motors made torque early. This is officially now one of my fav cars..and as with most of my fav cars its almost unattainable as 8800 were produced. Enjoy.

I remember this car in GT2. And I remember it being really really slow.

And the sound of it holy ****....you can hear it on youtube...just search 20btt or euenos cosmo

The 20B engine however is phenominal....absolute pure sex... in every single way... not to mention the sexy idle...

You can get 500 hp N/A if ported properly and nearly 1500+ with forced induction...

Here is the sound of a peripheral port at 11,000 RPM

Turn up the speakers and enjoy....

I'm actually making a formula car at the moment based off the 20B engine platform.

http://www.terra2imports.ca/mazda/cosmo/ if anyone in Canada wants to buy one.

There was some guys in the UK that had a 3 rotor swapped FD Rx7 pushing 800hp, however, with the standard gas tank, you could only drive the car for 20 minutes.

so, I can imagine this one eats even more fuel...

the Scoot 4 rotor

Mazda. I worked there for a while before I got into manufacturing. Every time that zoom zoom zoom comercial came on we would all do the "Booom Boom Boom" parody starring everyone at Cerritos Mazda.

Rotarys are cool for racers, bad for regular people. We had so many old people bringing in their 7s on tow trucks because of engine flooding. It was quite depressing.

The 4 rotors are awesome, 12 compressions per revolution, lots of power. The eccentric shaft for a cosmo is 8 grand I believe. Hows that for internals?

Nice vid of some 2 and 3 rotors warming up the tires

True, they are easy to fix when you know your way around these engines.

The only real downfall is the fuel consumption and weight, but id love this as a daily driver.....ive loved rotary engines for a along time, and back home our race tracks are predominantly rx-7's ......sound is like no other.

I hear that this car was like the 300zx in a sense that it had wayyyy too much electronic gadgets for its day, first car in the world i think to have GPS, cell phone and a buncha other stuff....

So whose gonna put a 20btt in a 240? anyone?

And the automatic.
So you're asking who wants to spend a lot of money to put in an engine that needs rebuilt as often as a 2 stroke? Not I.
