Just wanted everyone to know that Cody (8-bit) is our newest moderator...he has put in much effort in helping out forum members, as many of you know, in many different ways (online and offline). Make sure to congratulate him in this small token of recognition.

Ah jeez, there goes the neighborhood. *packs up and moves to Z@l\/!@*
J/K. Warranted or not, the guy goes above and beyond to help others. He's a selfless individual who will do anything to help.
.....I just hope he doesn't try to 'moderate' from his Linux-running-Mac-running-Windows-moderating KA-T.org The whole site might disappear...
Cheers bud, I can't help but bust your ballz...

Hey guys!
I suppose I should say something here... I never expected to become a moderator of the forum, that's for sure. I came to this site with basic knowledge of how to use basic tools, some intuition, and a little experience with old american motors. The people contributing to this site took a guy with no working knowledge of EFI, turbocharging, tuning, changing clutches, whatever.. You name it, I didn't know how --- but people told me, for free.
In time I did nearly everything that could be done to a 91' 240sx... Boosted, gutted, modified seats, quest alternator, suspension, wheels... yeah, I don't do body and paint, but everyone knows I perfer GO over SHOW.
And when it came down to tuning I realized this was something best done by ones self. This is the skill that I'm probably most known for by now... At the time there wasn't a lot of searchable or published information on tuning the KA24DE with a turbo on it. There was some general knowledge out there about reducing timing by 1deg/psi, and such, but nothing quite as specific to the common tuning platforms and methods that we use. I must give enormus credit to Calum Johnson for spending about two hours of talk time with me, explaining some basics for me to hold onto. I also read an awesome post about sr20 tuning by Scott Enthalpy where he, in selfless and business-damaging awesomeness, he went for a couple pages of some of the finer details to tuning the SR20DET. From there I treated my car like a test bench where I then applied, interpreted, and deducted deeper tuning principles. I began a discussion on tuning with the Calum RT that went on for ages --- many of us were sharing our observations and teaching each other as best as we could. That thread has over 54k views and over 800 posts... what the hell happened! hahaha! And as you guys also know I pay for a site where I host tunes for people interested in starting out and understanding nissan tuning.
I've been on the phone for (usually) hours with somewhere close to 30 of you guys by now -- even during finals. And recently I even drove 270 miles to vallejo to help mark washington out for the cost of gas and some good fun; well worth it.
-------------
I did this all, and will do my best to continue, for free -- for our community. You don't go to your community for money. You go for help, whether it is to give or to get help. This is what communities are all about.
The only thing I ask of anyone is to try to help others with what they've learned and will learn on their own. I urge everyone to keep the ball rolling and the information flowing. It seems every day there is something new to talk about in our crazy niche hobby.
I must reiterate that I am extremely grateful for everything I have learned and to the hundreds of ka-t members who taught me how to rock. One extra big shout out to Motoman, and that's because he's on the local, he's awesome, and he helps me for free or extremely cheap, on things I still can't do on my own.
Thanks to Klattr1 for the recognition... This was totally unexpected.
Lets Rock,
Cody

lol, no way. the biggest issue with nico is the lack of good moderators --- the mods set the tone and guidelines for how everything happens. Nico is repugnant and idiotic because the mods say it should be. Ka-t is awesome because the mods made it so.boker240 wrote:good job 16 -bit now moderate nico!!1lol
Even though it would be nice to begin enforcing drastic change @ nico to bring it up to snuff with ka-t level greatness, its just not worth it to me. They wouldn't have me there anyway, which is why you're joking about my second account... lol. Idiot moderator banned me for not having his opinion. I guess I just had no idea how stupid nico was until the moderators showed me how they roll.
