Wheel and tire fitment help
I have a 97 s14 and was planning on ordering the new xxr 527's this Friday in sizes 17x 9.75 25mm off
I was wanting help picking tire sizes. I was planning on running the Nitto Nto5's in either 235/40's or 255/40's. I was looking for form and function out of the combo. Do ya think the 255's would be to big? I was hoping to run everything the same size so I could rotate them. But I am also open to staggering them they have a 17x 8.75 +25 and +35 avaliable too. Any opinons would be appreacated.

if you dont mind a slight stretch id run
235/40/17 front
255/40/17 rear or 265/40/17
its going to be hard to fit anything bigger then a 245 up front ..
those will work well,
p.s. dont stagger just keep them all 9.75 trust me it will look way better..
imo these rim will only look good on a pretty low car..what suspension are you using??

Also do you think I will have problems clearing coilovers? I have k-sports I was wanting to avoid running spacers. What tire and wheel sizes are you running? I like your stance.turbo2nr wrote:if you dont mind a slight stretch id run

With rims like this, that only come a certain predetermined offsets, its hard to pick a set with good fitment, unless you mess around with spacers and such. It can be done nicely depending on how flush YOU want them to sit and how wide of a rim you need tho. As far as running the same size tire all around, like stated above, it will be hard to fit a larger tire up front. I must agree with turbo2nr, say run a 235/40 up front and 255/40 in the rear. I know it will sorta suck not being able to ratate them. As long as you arent destroying tires (burnouts, drifting, etc) it shouldn't wear too bad.

iirc these rims are offered in 4 and 5 lug options...
my rim setup was
17x9.5+15 all around
235/40f
255/40r
lowered on megan coils had about 1/4" gap all around, i also had r33 gts-t calipers on the front:
for reference:
i went about another 1/2" lower (no pics tho)
15offset on a 9.5 has tons of space for brakes, but its extremely close to fenders..
i had to roll and slight pull the front and rear. the 9.75+25 should be close to my 9.5+15 because you have an extra .25" of width.. you should have a problem with calipers.. if anything throw on a 10-15mm spaces for a agressive fitment if your into that look.. other wise you should be ok..

http://www.tyrestretch.com/index.php will give you an idea on how the tires will look on the wheels. You should have a good amount of time to decide on what tire you are wanting to run. I just ordered some and was told XXR isn't shipping until late Feb/ early March.[/url]
235/40 up front will not rub your inner fender wells and you can actually run them with little camber. If you go wider, you'll be tearing out plastic and have to run more camber.
255/40 is perfect in the rear similarly to above, with close to oem camber settings with a good roll but no pull. You probably could run 265 in the rear, but that will need a touch more camber.
Good luck, that stance will look good. I don't find staggered a problem, as I probably go through 3 pair on the rear for every 1 pair up front.

what about running a 245 all around with the +25 offest ( I like the OP want to be able to rotate ) Would that be a good middle ground?
